Already have it on CDs. I don't think I'll be playing it anymore, after playing it thoroughly through half a dozen times over the years, with extensive mods included. I have too many unplayed games in my library as it is. Great game, though, although it's showing its age, understandably. The next time I visit Morrowind will be by playing Skywind, should it ever get released.

On a mechanical level, Morrowind is far ahead most of the modern titles. The amount of calculations and factors that go into any action you make is phenomenal. Yes, it looks silly at times with you and enemy swinging at one another for 20 mins, but you level up skills it turns into a fantastic experience.
Visuals wise, there are plenty of mods that enhance the graphics to an insane degree.

Took a while to login on the beth site,had to wait till they fixed the login issues. Will def give it another go.
Remember the first time i played it, was at a friend, was amazed by the water and sky.
Loved the random encounters like the naked nord with the boots of blinding speed that you'd re-equip until you resisted the blindness.
Or the orc, with the Umbra sword. Really ahead of it's time game.
Was lucky my friend bought some blank cd's from a store and luckily the game was lost into one of them, otherwise who knows when i would of found out about it.IF.

Thanks for the heads up, but like others, I already own the CDs and don't really want to install another launcher.

While the later Elder Scrolls have suffered much from casualisation and consolidification, it's not all to Morrowind's benefit. Morrowind is so old that the fighting is too mechanical, to use your choice of wording. Allowing the dice to decide everything fits isometric RPGs, but it feels out of place when you are seeing through the eyes of the player character themselves in 1st person view. While Morrowind allowed far more freedom in echanting and alchemy, it also fell into its own trap by making them frustrating without exploiting the system. The level up bonuses in Morrowind and Oblivion also meant a person like me simply had to take a pen and paper and maximise the bonus every single level up. It led to kind of strange (and challenging) gameplay from the very beginning. Skyrim took away that "freedom", but honestly I didn't miss it for long. Instead I liked creating armor and weapons in Skyrim, which wasn't possible in Morrowind.
It would be good if the next Elder Scrolls restored the best parts of Morrowind's mechanics and further developed what's good in the later later Elder Scrolls, but we all know it's not going to happen. The next Elder Scrolls will most likely be the "Oh, I have free 20 minutes during this bus trip, I'm gonna stream some Elder Scrolls onto my smartphone quickly" kind of game...

One of the best games ever. Good thing TES6 will use the same (called Gamebryo in MW and OB, Creation Engine in Skyrim and FO4) engine again so I can scale mountains by jumping. 😎

The best Elder Scrolls game closely followed by Daggerfall, the rest of them doesn't even come close. I couldn't play it now though. I'm glad I played it in it's day, good times.

One of the best - When it was released in 2002 I played it like crazy for years to come ... I know there are some youtube tutorials to beat the game in 10 minutes of so ... but , what's the point. In one play through I got so lucky that in the first or second cave I found a staff of levitation ... God dammit , the game was fun afterwards .... But I do have to admit the graphics were dated even for 2002 .... right now I installed the game and it;s not the graphics that are bothering me ... but more the combat mechanics

I did not really need this as i have the Xbox version that got the 4k enhancement patch recently, but i gave this a shot, and wow, that launcher, do Bethesda know that they no longer need to make digital game stores that are 56k dial-up friendly. lol

this saves me from having to buy it threw steam, again then again I prefer all my games threw stream at this point, none the less free is great.
Network problem ? haha fiqures the main windows dont even load I dont remeber there launcher being this bad, And since when is the laucher in beta? I dont remeber it being beta when I forced to install it to the Creation Kit for sKyrim Se
technicaly all elderscroll games "graphics" were dated when they came out. the animations in the game are just as so

Eh i just uninstalled the launcher again? problem 5th time since i know about the launcher, I just redeem the game threw there web site

Same here, the launcher must be really shitty if all it does is, show me a gray rectangle..

it was never this bad, I have used it before for downloading Creation kit for SKyrim SE and it always worked and did what needed to do, but now all it does is show the grey box for few seconds then just black screen. Im sure the network issue they said they have is part of the issue, but at same time I never remember launcher being in beta all the other times I installed it either.
I already have morrowind on disc thing is I no longer have cd/dvd drive so i either got external one or just bought the game digital this works for me
Every company wants there OWN launcher platform and I dont like that I i dont have dozen of launchers. IT why still mostly got everything threw Steam, or maybe gog

Also not to forget, this is the GOTY version which includes both expansions Tribunal + Bloodmoon.
