Thankfully these NVMEs are way overrated if we have to go by those recent DirectStorage benchmarks between Gen3, 4 and 5.

yeah, Gen 3, 4, 5 are all worthy. Forget paying the newcomer premium.

"but less than 85mV when idle" When are these writers going to learn that voltage is not wattage/power? Its only part of it.

I guess not much good for mobo's with the M.2 under the GPU slot.

The early 4.0 Sabrent Rockets had a pretty big heat spreader on it too.

Faster is faster despite the drawbacks. That 3sec faster loading times will make a world of difference. :P

Hey, bro, can your motherboard have two processors?
Nah, why ya ask?
Well, I can see you have two Noctuas coolers with 14cm fans
bruh, that's CPU and NVME cooler...
WTF?

Still stuck on 1tb and 2tb ssd sizes. When the hell will storage size increase? Shit is tiny.

Maxed out speed on GEN 4 is insanely fast.
I'd be buying 2TB or 4TB well before getting GEN 5
Yeah, I paid like 350$ for my first 1TB SSD
Now for 400$ to 450$ you can get the fastest 4TB
Kaleid
This size becomes really problematic once all m.2 are gen 5. Won't fit if used with a decent GPU

Not gonna lie, I want this for my X399 Threadripper just because its over the top anyways with a massive dual 140mm cooler.

No one has mentioned that revision 1.1, which is what the public will get (after a first batch at best), will downgrade performance to PCIE3 levels without that being mentioned anywhere.

Hard pass.
I will wait for at most a non disruptive passive heatsink. 7k-10k just not worth the bulk and noise especially when I want 3 or 4 of these.
Nearly passed on the x570 because of the active chipset. At most for nvme I would go for like a x16 pcie board with room for 3-5 sticks with a mild passive cooler.

I member berry my first ssd, 160$ newegg flash deal was a 60gb ocz. Went bad in like two years but raided drives for oblivion was just too much hassle.
