i love the ATX's CPU place on ITX motherboard, the perfect DTX board...
Maybe it's time to change my HTPC 🙂

Impressive little beast! B350, up to 32GB DDR4, 802.11ac, NVMe M.2, ALC1220 audio, Bluetooth 4.2, USB 3.1 Gen2, HDMI 1.4 + DP 1.2... etc. Perfect mobo for tiny HTPC or compact gaming rig.
Not that I don't trust Gigabyte but I would like to see Asus doing something like this in ROG edition with B350 (or even better X370) around the same size and specs.
Any info about price and how strong VRM is on this thing? Due to compact VRM section guess it's not OC'able like full format B350 motherboards.
Hilbert any chance to grab this one and make a review in near future?

Glad to see more ITX competition, though even if this were available sooner, I think I'd have still picked the board I have now. The position of the 8-pin CPU connector and wifi would be a problem for my build, but, I do prefer the positioning of everything else. However in my case, I don't need wifi, so if I removed that then it wouldn't get in my way.
Anyway, no point in dwelling on what could be - I'm not replacing what I have any time soon. But, I do still wish my board had a B350 instead of X370 along with a lower price point.
From what I recall, Asus has no immediate plans for ITX. Only Biostar, Gigabyte, and ASRock had intentions to release something in 2017. I forget what MSI said. I have no doubt Zotac is working on something - I'd be surprised if they didn't.
I don't think the VRM quality is all that relevant, seeing as all Ryzens seem to reach the same limit regardless of VRM. This is ITX, so it's not like you're going to be able to do any extreme OCing anyway.

...Time to convert my rig to ITX now....

Noob question. What's the differences between ITX and mini ATX?

ITX is a lot smaller.

Ahh, ok. Thanks. The last Micro-ATX board kept my CPU running cooler than anything else I have used before. Perhaps because of the small form factor they allow for better airflow and cooler temps and use less power overall.

Generally speaking ATX(not factoring in E-ATX or even BTX) will usually always have the best for power delivery and mosfet cooling, which makes sense looking at the size of it. But if it's the same chipset, power delivery setup, it won't make a bit a difference honestly. ITX is different in that aspect, that's a lot less space and everything is crammed together. Usually on high end overclocking ITX boards you see a daughterboard attached to it that houses the power delivery or other small parts.

I personally wish DTX were more common. The vast majority of "ITX" cases out there are actually DTX. The extra couple cm can make a very big difference in what you fit on the board, while rarely being limited by what case the PC can be put in.
Nowadays, ITX is pretty much all most people (but definitely not all) need. Most people only need 2 or 3 disk drives. Integrated audio is usually good enough and even when it isn't, many people are resorting to external DACs or use DP/HDMI audio. Multi-GPU solutions are rarely worth looking into. Most CPUs don't have any noticeable benefit beyond dual-channel, and DDR4 currently has single modules up to 128GB. With stuff like USB-C and Thunderbolt, you can daisy chain multiple devices.
There's rarely a need for anything larger. For my ITX case in particular, air flow is better than any larger cases I've had.
