The 13700F + B760 board should be a hit ^^

Yes but why the f model ? I am really not sold on the f skus since the non f ones cost 10-20bucks more ..... Honestly even if you do not care about quick sync the extra display outputs worth it ! I was using for years the outputs from my 3770k and when I switched to Ryzen had at few points to mix match adaptors to get all e displays going ! On the other hand I guess if you have a spare card and you do not care on anything more than 1 monitor the non f skus make no sense ....hmmmm

So intel should just throw away silicon that only has defects in the iGPU and not sell them?

No not at all, just especially for the higher sku models cutting off more than 10-20 bucks will make em a lot more appealing ! 10-20 bucks savings on a product you already fork 300-500 bucks already might as well get the extra video outputs . If say they chop off 50 bucks from the 13700f vs the 13700 then yeah that's almost enough to throw a fuma2 on top that can convince me to forfeit the igpu!

@Venix What I never understood is how the iGPU is only worth $20. The dies for them are actually pretty large, even before Xe came around. They can't be cheap to make and even the most basic GPUs are still more complex than most ARM CPUs, yet they're worth basically nothing. I figure if Intel sold F models for a price reduction of what the iGPU is actually worth then nobody would ever buy non-F models. So basically, you're getting a better deal with the non-F F models, even though it's hardware you might not ever use.

I personally wonder if a 13400T would make a good HTPC, or if Zen 4 Phoenix Point (with RDNA 3) might be a better option.

@schmidtbag an igpu is a no brainer when the extra cost is so low ... Literally the cheapest video outputs you can get , while it is not something I require I always pick it up when I have the choice and does not mean lesser CPU performance ( sadly the Ryzen 5700g CPU cores lag quite some then 5700x and 5800x else I would have been all over that 5700g my self was about the same price! @heffeque depends what you want from it evena 2200g will playback 4k 60hz video no problem except if I am mistaken , also might be using lower chroma sampling 4:2:2 or something so check on that too .

Thinking of using it for slight gaming too (currently on an i7-8550U + MX150 laptop acting as HTPC which is barely enough for gaming and louder than I'd like, but still an OK setup for my needs). Thinking that Phoenix Point could be a nice upgrade liberating my laptop from being plugged into the TV most of the time. A 2200G seems like it would struggle with the "slight gaming" part.

Have you considered some of AMD's most recent mobile platforms? You get a lot of bang for buck with those, and they're tiny. I'm pretty sure there are desktop models with those.

But they are usually Vega and lack AV1 decode, correct? RDNA2/3 should be a nice upgrade to Vega and might offer equal if not better performance than my MX150, while maintaining power consumption (noise) low.

Well yeah it will that's why I said depends what you do for video only almost everything is fine , now if gaming is involved depends what you consider light gaming !

The BGA Ryzen 6000 series uses RDNA2. Looks like models are still in production but they will be available. EDIT: Huh... not sure if Hilbert has been reading this thread, but look at what just got posted today: https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/beelink-gtr6-6900hx-ultra-compact-desktop-pc-with-ryzen-9-6900hx.445056/
Six_Tymes:

if the IGP isn't working on the F's, I would think its less heat.
Assuming no power flows through them whatsoever, I think the heat difference with the iGPU would be negligible. Since they're comprised of semiconductors, they're not exactly good at dissipating heat.

Maybe not all the 13th gen Intel CPUs are listed in that chart. [youtube=NRjxEgW55Ho]
