Especially if it comes out in a ti/super variant. Was set on getting a 3090, but if leaked gaming benchmarks are true, 10% increase in performance is not worth the price difference. AMD cards are shaping up nicely as well. Probably be spring before prices/inventory stabilize.

I don't mind paying £1500 but more than that i'll wait it out a while. Having no GPU atm means ive actually managed to do stuff around the house!

Imho, this card is a fail. Even as a pro I'd consider buying two 3080s for compute power before spending more than twice the money on 10% plus. But maybe matters are more complicated in the pro environment, but for gaming this card is a horrible buy.

I imagine folks will argue that it's super future proof due to the vram. No way nvidia would have released 20gb 3080s before this card, Nvidias hopes folks that are put off with the relatively small 10gb on 3080s will just grab one of these. That's when 20gb 3080s will release, once enough of these have been bought up.

I assume the price will keep most people away. The I must have it today people typically wont have $1,500+ laying around anyhow. Any sensible person will laugh at the 3090 because 10% more performance for 2x the cost is some nonsense. I do think Nvidia's pricing means they think AMD will compete with the 3080 but not the 3090. I'm just spectating until AMD has cards out and reviewed anyhow.

I found a great direct-from-manufacturer outlet on ebay through all this, if they list a 3090 with offers available i'd for sure consider them again.

Why overpriced? RTX 3090 10GB would cost 1000, add 14GB more and that makes 1500.

@AuerX You can buy and assemble a full desktop PC with 1500 USD, and not a bad one either! Even considering you're a rich kid, buying the 3090 is just a bad thing to do imo. Just get the 3080, if you can, or wait for a version with more vram of said card. Personally I'm really interested to see what Nvidia made with the 3070 and how it will stack up with the Navi2.

Or they just don't care because they have so much money, or they are doing video editing and the 3090's performance is like 30-40% higher than $5000 Quadro's from last generation and VRAM actually matters.

People's attitudes about the 3090 seems to reflect their financial situation. Everyone is different, I don't see what the big deal is honestly. Most people I know that can spend this kind of cash comfortably didnt get there by accident. Not exactly "idiots" or "rich kids".....sigh..
