3090 is like a Titan, 3080 OK but where is the 3080Ti?? There is a gap between a gfx card with 24gb and 10gb
3080Ti = 3090 That is if all the rumors are true.

No, there is already mention of 3090 with 12gb vram so 3080ti will be a cut down version.

The 3080-Ti is the product at 1100$, can't you see it ?:D

They may be holding back the 3080Ti to see what big Navi brings to counter act. I really think the 3090 is the "Titan".

Unless we get a second 3080 with more gb, this gap in memory amount is impossible to justify. The power difference won't be so huge that they can classify 3080 as 4k gpu & 3090 as 8k gpu.

I really, really wanted a 3080 but it's now in the air as i wanted more than 10gb of Vram. If they are gonna double up the vram sizes on future 30XX cards then that makes it even harder to pull the trigger. Just 2gb more and i would of been happy. I mean we already have 11gb cards available and that can be used up in some titles @4k.

Amd needs to come up with a 12-16gb navi cards at competitive price. It will be just enough. Thst gap in vram between 3090 and 3080 just shows which cards nvidia wants you to buy. If you would to consider one probably smart thing is to wait for the 20gb version if it ever appears.

the 3080ti could be the 20gb version. It's all a mystery... dern this manufacturers!

Until many more games support raytracing and becomes a norm it will stay that way. I am very much interested how rdna2 will perform under the same condition. Im sure amd will make their own version of dlss.
I noticed in a recent Digital Foundry video Alex Battaglia claimed the Series X GPU had about half the machine learning capability of a 2060, he also thought AMD wouldn't have an alternative to DLSS. I'm not really sure how he came to that conclusion, though.

Reviews and benchmarks will be exciting for sure, but damn these prices are just insane. I'm starting to feel like a PC peasant now waiting for a $300 3060.
If 3060 ends up 300$ thats actually pretty good.

10GB is not really enough. NVIDIA will refresh those really quickly if there's no 20GB version available right from the start. Performance/VRAM ratio is not optimal for future. 3090 would be fine 'till it breaks.

This is how I think about the situation, too. 10GB isn't enough, 24GB is too much, for my needs anyway, with nothing in between except the possibility of an AIB 20GB 3080 at a hugely inflated price. It's all so unappealing but what's the alternative, wait another 4-6 months for a possible 3080ti, or see what AMD does. AMD by the way have shown recently they're willing to directly match Nvidia on VRAM allocation now, see the 5600XT, which imo should have launched with 8GB.

Thinking 1300$ is crazy expensive, but buys a 60 000$ car 😛

Imagine 3090 as the new 2080ti. That means a 3080 super will come next year with 20 gb vram. If that happens, I will quit pc gaming unless amd delivers. I will not work a month's salary for each computer component hardware to justify CEOs and investors dreams of gold. Lately to aquire a higher end gaming rig for some countries, you must work a half year to save easy money for a true seamless purchase. 🙄

Exciting year ! Too bad most people will not afford these beasts.

Pretty sure Nvidia knows what they are doing with vram usage. The 10gb on the 3080 will be enough. The last thing they need is a high end card that falls flat to 16gb big Navi due to vram. Not going to happen. We know the masses will cry when they see more vram being allocated (not necessarily used) to 16-gb and 24-gb cards in games. Nvidia will not risk a PR disaster when any game chokes due to lack of vram. The 3080 I believe is around 20-30% faster than the 2080ti (according to TS extreme leak) and will go up against big Navi. The 3090 is a new tier above that.

10GB might be enough for users who like to play at high refresh 1440p but for those of us who choose 4K 10GB will absolutely not be enough going forward for next gen games with ever increasing texture demands and RTX features. RT needs more VRAM, DirectX 12 needs more VRAM.

Nvidia have a tradition. Prices are made up on the stage by ceo. So if he sees you hyped oh boy...better look uninterested.
Be sure to not wear a leather jacket too as it indicates that you have lot of money /s

We will know when the 10gb card goes up against 16gb big Navi. Both will be 4k cards. Also will be interesting when AIBs make the 20gb versions of the 3080 (which will happen for marketing reasons imo). I cant wait when its compared to the 10gb in reviews.
