Aren't you on a 1080ti?
I have access to different cards
This driver is only making DX12 changes for rtx 3000s.
thats incorrect.

i already ruled it out as a reason for not experiencing it, because turing users don't even have the capability, it must be windows itself as a factor at this point This is a HAGS issue when enabled on gpu's with native aspm turned on.
I don't have HAGS enabled, it's off. Whatever it was doing has now gone away. GPU is now flatlined, same with CPU so i have no idea why it was doing that.

oh, keep in mind that Windows Defender is GPU accelerated now.

I've also been getting the task manager GPU usage oddness with this driver. I've since compared it to 517.48 with no HAGS or ReBAR, 517.48 with HAGS and ReBAR then finally 522.25 with no HAGS or ReBAR. In both cases on 517.48 task manager and HWinfo sit at 0%-1% GPU usage at idle, but both 522.25 cases exhibit odd jumps from 0%-high 90's% up and down. This generally isn't happening upon boot, but seems to appear after having run a game and then once I've closed said game I notice this behavior. Not sure this is relevant or not, but the spikes are happening in DWM.exe according to task manager's Processes list. This does not seem to change performance so far, as I can cold boot, enter game at expected performance, exit game, observe strange behavior, launch same game and play at expected performance. *shrug*

It's literally what they stated. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/geforce-rtx-4090-game-ready-driver/ "Our DirectX 12 optimizations apply to GeForce RTX graphics cards and laptops, though improvements will vary based on your specific system setup, and the game settings used. In our testing, performance increases were found in a wide variety of DirectX 12 games, across all resolutions:" I don't know what else you need.
what part of that says 3000 series only?

it says RTX cards, but its a general umd improvement that improves performance across the board for all supported hardware.

Aren't you on a 1080ti? This driver is only making DX12 changes for rtx 3000s. Hence why you're not seeing any issue.
njug:

"Substantial DirectX 12 Performance Improvements For GeForce RTX GPUs" ?
you said changes to only 3000 series, clearly the RTX is more than the 3000 series.

If your card runs DX12 Ultimate then it'll get the same upgrades everyone else got. "To make the most of DirectX 12 Ultimate you need the latest hardware. The good news is Nvidia's GeForce RTX 30 Series and GeForce RTX 20 series GPUs have support for DirectX 12 Ultimate".

The Cyberpunk issue might actually be a game bug that was previously masked. been chatting with a few people and it looks to them like a race condition involving a Resource Barrier (or lack of one), The game has had random vertex explosions due to a buggy bloom shader since 1.3 apparently.

The actual quote from the download page is this: " This Game Ready Driver also includes significant DirectX 12 performance optimizations which can dramatically improve performance for GeForce 30 Series GPUs."

Tried on an old GTX970 and no gain ... 😛

I have found that rBar was causing my system to lag Turned that off and all fine and fluid

GTX1660super usage is very hight while idle ( up to 100% ar all time up and down ), poor perfomanse 🙁
caused by HAGS

Nvidia released a what they call fix. However, this is not a fix, its just like rolling back the driver, as all the performance improvements gained with the new drivers are gone...

False.

Astyanax:

False.
For CP2077 in my case, its not false. Tried twice, with the fix applied, GPU load does not exceed 96%, while without the fix its almost always 99-100% and therefore I loose about 10fps EDIT: The setting Setting ID_0x00c36e12 = 0x00000000 was added to the cyberpunk profile. Don't know what that does.

False.
Pretty much.

Pretty much.
I can see a clear decline of FPS. It seems, whatever they did with the new driver to improve the CPU bottleneck, the improvement is gone for me with the fix applied.

i haven't seen more than 2-3 fps difference with vs without the profile.
