Great job, you've read the chroma subsampling specification on the BD's info! And this helps you resolve your issue how exactly?
You'll continue to whine that you're right and that it looks 'blurry', or will you actually try to backup the statement with something more than just words.
I will try to make a video but it's not very visible on a video.
I was also a "mytho" with my HDMI audio cuts until Nvidia reall found an issue and correct it 9 months later...
To all of you sharing the amazing feat of not actually planning to install this driver, perhaps you'd like to share an array of instagram pics explaining how you squeezed the juice to go with your avocado toast as well.
I installed these, have only played Elden Ring for a few hours. Works fine.
Sure...
Astyanax:
this is only happening on 980ti's afaik.
3080Ti and obviously other cards too, unless 516.59 fixes it for these cards, but that would have been specified in the patch notes if so.
When someone storms in with the most vague explanation, going as far as to say it looks 'blurry' can pretty much
answer himself in my opinion. I've four 4k monitors, 2 since 2016 and 2 more(one of em an oled tv) since 2019.
I'm not sure how these people produce these 'blurry' results when comapring 10bpc to 12bpc. The literal logic behind it
is actually going backwards. 10bpc has the slight chance of being full 4;4;4 rgb, whilst 12bpc is a compressed pos 4:2:0.
If anything, 12 should look 'blurry'(not) if compared to 10.
My guess is these people don't know what they're looking at and just want to complain here, blaming everything on the drivers.
You could ask them if it worked fine in previous drivers before berating them not make it your job to defend Nvidia, if it didn't and he has always had the problem let him know how things 'work'.
I just installed it and my GPU performance dropped almost 4000 points in 3DMark Time Spy.
MSI RTX 3090 Suprim X and AMD Ryzen 5900X here.
Checking MSI Afterburner, the Curve Editor dropped all Voltage/Frequencies by 50 MHz at default values. This Patch completely destroyed my undervolting settings. Also fixing it doesn't seem to bring back the performance. I guess I'll go back to an older version.
Can anyone confirm same or similar problems with this driver?
Edit:
It seems that this only affects 3DMark Time Spy. My games perform quite well without issues so far.

Dude, just checked my 2080ti & my custom curve undervolt & clock settings remain untouched in AB. 3DMark seems to be running as it should too. Used the upgrade path without a settings clear. All seems well. Games performing as they did with previous 516.40....

For a staff member, I'd say its pretty naive of you to assume I didn't check his account's postings to see where the issue began. And then whipping out the 'defend Nvidia'?
I'm pretty sure you can do better than that. I myself have my fair share of nvidia issues, but I know how the HDR works on oleds and how easily it can break. He's been whinning
about this issue since 511.17 came out.
As you've probably read, he knows exactly what he's doing, right? For someone that knows exactly what he's doing, why hasn't he looked at other alternatives? Why hasn't he
mentioned even once throughout multiple threads how he's watching those hdr films. What player? What windows version? Through what is he setting 10-bit? Did he turn
off every single setting in his tv's picture options that screws with 24hz? Is the display actually running at 24hz during the playback, or its 60hz like most player? Did he
try reverting drivers back to old ones to confirm it was actually the issue?
If he really wanted help, he would've asked for it like a normal human being. Repeating "24hz blurry, 60hz gaming not" is not asking for help. And you, as a staff member telling
me I'm defending Nvidia instead of looking at this situation for what it is, is just disgusting.
Did you run Destiny 2 for a few hours with 516.59?
Experienced the freeze with 516.40 and that game pretty much randomly.
It also had a short random black blank in Lost Ark, for very short duration, didn't experience that issue with 516.48 so far.

The thread was reported by users, not the guy you were exchanging with, I just look into it quickly.

That is probably because it has the same people trolling on this site constantly or just being jerks. Nothing will change because nothing is ever done about it.
FINALLY!! I've had this issue since the launch of the 30 series, and initially created this account to see if others had the same issue. Fantastic to see them acknowledge it, at last. It actually does not occur while using Win11, but whenever (soon hopefully) this gets fixed I'll return to Win10 immediately - Win11 is just unfinished.
Is anybody getting atrocious performance in Outriders with these drivers and 516.40? I used to get a perfectly smooth 1440p@144 Ultra settings, now can't even keep 60 at medium settings and I get hitches in combat that get me killed.
The game looks exactly the same, no visual reason for taking THAT much performance. Here are things I've tested that have made zero difference so far.
-Driver upgrade
-Uninstall/reinstall this driver
-Use DDU then install this driver
-Turn HAGS on/off
-Uninstall the game, redownload it
-Using all levels of DLSS in the game
-DPI scaling at 100%, then 200% (my normal setting)
-DX11 and DX12 flags in steam, confirmed API switch via RTSS
No clue what is going on, but the game ran flawlessly since launch until the big update today. I guess I'll blame the game for now and hope either NV/PCF get enough reports of horrendous performance? I'll start going backwards installing driver version tomorrow and see what that does...

Youtube videos at 4k and 8k stuttering and lagging (not all videos) on Edge and Chrome.
RTX 3060 Ti, Windows 11 22H2, AV1 codec installed. Driver 516.59 (and older drivers the same). Hardware acceleration enabled. CPU I7-12700K. 32G DDR5 RAM. NVME PCIE-4 SSD drive.
How to resolve this issue?
Thanks

Yes I ran D2 for over 3 hours no problems here maybe, the windows version make the difference I'm on 25145.1011
Sniper Elite 5 doesn't crash anymore ,But SE5 got a mayor update of 40 GB yesterday maybe that fixed crashing.

Revert to 516.40(48) driver i think it is an 4k,8k issue lot of RTX users report issues with this driver wait for a hotfix or new version and hope it solve it

With 516.40 and older drivers the same issue with Youtube lagging

Ah, got a repro now, only occurs on subsequent runs of the game which means probably that the shader recompiler is a factor (infinite loop is my best guess without being able to pix/nsight)
