what about the tech putting data straight into vram instead of system ram ? only thin air ?
That works only with 3000 generation cards if I'm not mistaken...

Yes, pretty much what I have experienced since the previous drivers came out, 456.38, my LG FreeSync monitor just doesn't work anymore, works randomly for a few minutes and then have to disable/reenable FreeSync... Reverted to 452.06 and everything works normally, with the exception of the Image Sharpening which does not work with Geforce Experience.
I'd imagine my monitor is fairly uncommon (38" Ultrawide) so good to know I'm not the only one here having this issue, if you know what i mean =). Reverted to 452.22 once again. Thanks for confirming it!

Is the DCH control panel more up to date than the standard control panel or do the version numbers not correspond to the same thing between the two? I have been using standard drivers but if the DCH control panel is more up to date then I would not have a problem moving to the DCH drivers. Thanks
disq:

DCH Control Panel has version 8.1.958.0, dunno about Standard
8.1.940.0 for the standard

No, my monitor is just a garden variety 34 inch ultrawide LG.

Updated to 465.55 but still having completely crash and freeze up issue. The only working workaround for now is to down clock by 50MHz.
data/avatar/default/avatar36.webp
Not sure if this is driver related but after updating the latest version of Modern Warfare, the round ends, the scoreboard shows up and it freezes and quits to desktop.

@ManuelG I wounder why the library _nvtopps.dll is loaded on Pascal GPUs and keep logging fail to load if Pascal GPUs don't support it? I hope NVIDIA will remove it from the INF for Pascal GPU unless you plan to support Pascal GPUs

I believe it. Ever since the 456 drivers, my 1080ti locked overclock keeps getting bumped up by itself. at 2025 mhz the card is stable as soon as it gets a load at 2037 it crashes. The crashes on the 30 series are probably related to the bugged boosting.

Anyone tried these with Warzone, I can't play any game with the season 6 released today, game freeze then a crash with an error code.

OK, people with older drivers are crashing too, not a driver related but game-related, sorry guys!

Poorly worded. I should have said.. "Because my monitor is uncommon, I'm glad someone with different hardware has the same problem. Confirming it's not just me or my config. 😳

...and back to 451.85 yet again. Don't know if this one would spit out Event Viewer "driver crashed" errors like every driver after 451.85 and several before it, because I didn't have it installed long enough due to Horzon Zero Dawn having a lot more stutter with this driver: Edit: This was with the 1060 3GB. Got a 1660 Super in my specs now. Will try these driver again on the new card. My frame rates are about 20-30 higher than they were in the benchmarks below though. 😀 451.85 HorizonZeroDawn.exe benchmark completed, 3236 frames rendered in 63.594 s Average framerate : 50.8 FPS Minimum framerate : 41.3 FPS Maximum framerate : 61.7 FPS 1% low framerate : 32.5 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 14.0 FPS 456.55 - st-st-st-stutters! HorizonZeroDawn.exe benchmark completed, 3161 frames rendered in 62.844 s Average framerate : 50.2 FPS Minimum framerate : 33.7 FPS Maximum framerate : 60.7 FPS 1% low framerate : 16.7 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 6.5 FPS

1063 still strong. Very nice digits to this gpu.
I mean this in the nicest possible way. 'What?' 😕

I think he meant GTX1060, which the user he was quoting is using.

On Nvidia site there is not 456.55 Game Ready Standard driver type for GTX 1650, only DCH is ver. 456.55, but for GTX 1660 there is 456.55 Standard Game Ready driver type available, why so? Is it because GTX 1650 it is the lowest class of the 16 series? Also very slow access to Nvidia.com site with Google Chrome, none slowness if another browser is used.

Just try it, it might be a typo on their part, the driver works fine in my GTX970. Use the link in the OP here.

Not fixed here.
Astug:

Would like to know this aswell. As I understand it, this was fixed in a previous driver but wasn't merged in 456.38. Hopefully it's in now.
Fix is targetted for next driver (Manuel as source)
windrunnerxj:

This is probably something that GFE should fix but I thought I'd retest a bug with control panel sharpening not being visible on GFE screenshots because a new GFE beta was released since previously reported. Bug is still present, unfortunately. 456.55 and beta GFE 3.20.5.48 (previously tested 452.06 and GFE 3.20.4.14).
It is never going to be fixed, the game just doesn't play nice with the sharpening used.
bluedevil:

Call of duty Warzone uses 1.2gb of shared gpu memory (RAM) but only 1.9 gb out of the 6gb Gddr my rtx 2060 has at the menu. In-game still 1.2gb of shared gpu memory(RAM) and 2.8gb Gddr out of 6gb . Every setting is on low or disabled. I have Nvidia highlights disabled in-game and no geforce experience installed . Why is it using 1.2gb of shared gpu memory when my gpu has plenty of memory of its own? This seems excessive as I only have 8 gb of RAM. Is this driver related or bad game code? Is there any way to lower or disable gpu shared memory?
No.

RTX IO requires game side implementation, and works best on an OS supporting DirectStorage

You are the kind of case i've been referring to in other posts. A driver can only fix so much, it cannot fix cards that are of low grade and subject to noise issues. Invoke your warranty.

I've seen that reported for some time, predating the launch of ampere

Its checked 4x at the start of a windows session and then never again after, bit pointless to remove something when someone could drop a new gpu in at any time (and this is a supported practice of nvidia's drivers regardless of what the DDU worshippers proclaim)

Overclocks are not guaranteed between drivers. Re-evaluate yours. The offset you specify in tools adjusts the offset for all steps below and above the advertised (average) rate. The boost formula includes tdp, voltage and temperature as metrics so anything different in any of these results in your system being able to hit higher boost steps which are not stable at your applied overclock.

Delete the PSO cache and rebuild it.

I did, but even if I had forgotten, it would have forced a rebuild anyway. It does every time a driver, OS version, and who knows what else changes.
