When i install this driver the option of DLSS in MW5 display menu disappears but in the graphics menu the options that grey out when DLSS is activated are still greyed out, reverting to 445.75 and the option reappears

GeForce Hotfix display driver version 445.78 is based on our latest Game Ready Driver 445.75. This Hotfix driver addresses the following: Some DirectX 11 games may fail to launch when Image Sharpening is enabled from the NVIDIA Control Panel https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/geforce-445-78-hotfix-driver-download.html Branch [r445_75-2]
Excellent, there were games like USF4 or Bulletstorm that stopped working 2 or 3 driver versions ago, and I had to disable the sharpening in order to open them.

this crashing was only present in 445.75 and this hotfix only fixed 445.75 crashing.

Well, that problem with the games I mentioned, I've had it since 442.59. By the way, now that I remember there were several W10 applications (msn news, whatsapp, atube and some others) where I also had to disable it because there were anomalies.

there still are if you reboot with it enabled :\

Back to the subject, these hotfixes reset all the settings of my Nvidia panel. I had to manually modify it back to the way it was.

3dmark doesn't matter.

You're wrong about that. Game optimizations can increase GPU utilization and temps. I've never seen it more than a couple degrees C though. By 'heat' I believe he meant his GPU temps are higher. And yes than can happen.
If my card is idling at 135 MHz as it is now because I am just sitting here typing this. It is going to be that 135 MHz regardless of any driver change. How can a driver magically make that warmer or cooler? Does the driver have control over my ambient temperature?

Control looks amazing with the new dlss, but sadly vulkan is not working in Ghost Recon Breakpoint, it seems to be running in "software mode", using 100% cpu and 2-5% of gpu

Installed these the other day, but for some reason my machine decided to revert to basic drivers (432.00 i think?) Have re-installed these. Will see if it happens again

Not really. I never looked at the old version of the game (or anything with DLSS 1.x) but I don't like how much "false contours" (~ringing like aretifacts) it creates on the PC's face. I think these kind of intentionally blurry/smoggy and soft original visuals are better paired with some dumb and generally soft upscalers (like a simple bilinear, may be bicubic filter) rather than fancy fractal/AI scalers (they will try to re-create completely surreal nonexistent details from the blurry/smoky smudges present on the raw input). I think this game should include config options to make the raw visuals more sharp and clean to begin with (by ommiting the post-process filters which make it look somewhat soft and smudgy) and then DLSS 2.x could have a better chance to shine (like it does in Moon). https://prohardver.hu/dl/upc/2020-03/35956_controldlss.png It's like DLSS gives her a second eyebrow, a small mustache, makes her look 5+ years older (the harder shadows around the cheeks and below the eyes) and thus less feminine in general. This is "Quality" mode (max allowed render res.) for 1440p output.

Control panel sharpening appears to be completely broken (as in has no effect) in a bunch of games with these drivers e.g. Witcher 3. Can anyone else confirm?

Black screen on Wolfenstein Youngblood. No matter if V-Sync is On or Off. Reverted to 442.74 to get rid of black screen.

Hmm. Despite 445.75 says it's ready for the updated Control, I had weird graphical anomalies in that game (high VRAM usage, textures flipping into and getting stuck in really low quality versions) even with DLSS and all RT options disabled. I went back to 450.12 and it runs fine. Edit: Nah, scratch that. It still happens, just somewhat later. Must be the game itself.

Well...interesting observation. The image sharpening bug was solved with this driver for me with Modern Warfare when I used my 1660 Ti. Got a 2060 delivered today and swapped it out. The image sharpening bug is still present with the 2060 and these hotfix drivers. I DDU and it didn;t make a difference.
the same fix applies to both cards, check you didn't get bumped back to 445.75.

Very smooth gameplay with these ones. Ghost Recon Wildlands, RDR 2, AC:Origins

Not sure in which driver this happend, but i noticed Sharpening no longer works in Dungeon Keeper 2 (1999). I know it's an old game, but it worked fine before and in combination with FXAA it sort of fixed the fact that it's limited to 1024x768.

I checked and did a clean install again with 445.78 and have the same issue. Game looks all funky like it did with my 1660 Ti with image sharpening on. I have 2 systems set up now. The hotfix drivers solves the issue with the 1660 Ti but doesn't seem to for the 2060 in my case.
The fix had nothing to do with "appearance", it was to stop it crashing games. Your issue is caused by Sharpening itself being enabled at startup, and if you put the 1660 back in and rebooted with the setting on you'd get the same visual issues.

Every driver past 442.19 gives me lower performance in the Division 2 Anyone else noticed the same?
Yes, I noticed and captured same performance drop in terms of raw performance (FPS avg) past v442.19. Can't confirm 100% if this significant regression is driver, game-based or a mix though. I didn't check if the performance could be restored under 442.19 post latest major Div2 patch. Could you confirm this extent? Anyway, here are my 3 driver analysis that show such raw performance drop post 442.19: NVIDIA 442.50 WHQL Driver Performance Benchmark (Turing) NVIDIA 442.74 WHQL Driver Performance Benchmark (Turing) NVIDIA 445.75 WHQL Driver Performance Benchmark (Turing) @ManuelG please could keep an eye on this and share my findings with the proper NV driver team if needed? Thanks in adavance and kind regards.

Would this driver work on the RTX Titan? The list only has 2080 Ti.
