anyway ROTR looks ok here. 2 runs
2 runs of what? This isn't even one run of the benchmark there. You also have a different card.
Memorian:

You expect a GV104(Performance chipset) to be faster than the High-end GV100 chipset ?
I expect GA104 gaming oriented mid high end GPU to be slightly faster in gaming than a previous gen compute oriented GV100 GPU, yes.
Carfax:

The DX11 renderer on the other hand was smooth as butter and had higher framerates as well.
This isn't saying much. Did you compare 770 to 811? .43 to .59? And did you use something like 1080p?
khanmein:

Are you using Malwarebytes?
No. There is no additional CPU load. Downgrading ROTTR to b770 solves the issue of frametimes but it doesn't completely solve the issue of lower performance in low resolution which is likely a driver issue. I'll downgrade to .43 today and check if this will bring back the performance.

No, I didn't compare patches or anything. I just downloaded it a few hours ago, so patch 811 was already installed. Also, I ran it at 1440p. Anyway, I didn't get any of the weird frametime spikes you were getting, with max settings and SMAA. This is just one benchmark run, and the spikes are the transitions I believe. Framerate was very high during the entire run. http://imageshack.com/a/img922/8003/TB0AWc.jpg

Frametime variance is certainly on the game's latest patch. Here, I've compared it between b770 and b811: https://abload.de/img/2017-12-0910_16_34-yaspv.png 770 https://abload.de/img/2017-12-0910_10_04-beueskp.png 811 Loss of performance in 1080p isn't though as even b770 is slower on .59 than on .31. Off to downgrading the driver now... Update: downgraded back to 388.31 and am getting essentially the same result in Far Cry Primal in 1080p as on .59 - and nowhere near what I was getting back when .31 released. So it's not the driver and it's most likely the latest Win10 1709 update. Will do a clean install of 1709 b16299.98 in an hour and see if this will change anything. FFS, MS... This will be a third clean install of 1709 because of various problems it brought.

matey, long live non-win 10 OSes  yo folks, what about video playback / dxva on this .59 release? (not really into gaming lately, sry)

Try running the game with Full Screen Optimisations disabled (compatibility on the exe)

Clean install of 1709 + latest updates (b16299.98), 388.59 drivers and Uplay (to launch the game) - and fps in FCP are back to where they were with .31. No idea what's caused the slowdown but there were no h/w changes in the last month. Will install stuff back and see if it will go down again at some point.

Tried it yesterday, had no effect whatsoever.

I want to see some game benchmarks with the Titan V Why GF drivers if it is a AI card. Better AI in games?
Basically it has some new circuits that do better matrix calculations that help in AI and machine learning.

Run driver store explorer and delete old drivers: https://driverstoreexplorer.codeplex.com/ Run DDU and delete the driver installed, then extract the exe of the installer for the driver you want to install, make a .txt file with this in it rd /s /q Display.Optimus rd /s /q Display.NView rd /s /q Display.Update rd /s /q GFExperience rd /s /q GFExperience.NvStreamSrv rd /s /q GfExperienceService rd /s /q HDAudio rd /s /q LEDVisualizer rd /s /q Miracast.VirtualAudio rd /s /q MS.NET rd /s /q MSVCRT rd /s /q Network.Service rd /s /q nodejs rd /s /q NV3DVision rd /s /q NV3DVisionUSB.Driver rd /s /q NvBackend rd /s /q NvCamera rd /s /q NvContainer rd /s /q NvTelemetry rd /s /q NVWMI rd /s /q NvVAD rd /s /q NvvHCI rd /s /q PhysX rd /s /q ShadowPlay rd /s /q ShieldWirelessController rd /s /q Update.Core change the extension to .bat, stick it in the folder where you extracted the driver, run it, - it will delete 800MB of garbage from the installer then install the driver with the setup.exe. (Essentially just delete all folders except NV12 and Display.Driver) Bringing it down from something like 1.2GB extracted to around 400MB, if compressed with 7zip it's 300MB exactly. You can also replace the old 1.0.61 Vulkan runtime in the Display.Driver folder with 1.0.65.1 released today which you can find in the Vulkan API here: LunarXchange Now you're left with pure Nvidia drivers and only the Control panel. If you want to save a couple gigs more space download Image health https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/248-image-health/ and run the extended garbage cleanup it will take a long time but your WinSxS folder will go back down below 7GB from whatever it's at. (Can grow over 20Gb...)
i can just remove all these paths except physx and install the driver normally? i want only install driver, physx and vulkan api

bad drivers for ac origins, stuttering mess. back to 388.43 and fine again
I can confirm this. Heavy stuttering after 388.59 (clean) install.

You only need to keep : Display folder NVI2 folder Physx folder Vulkan driver is inside display folder, it gets installed silently. Don't have AC Origins but these seem the same as 388.43 in the games I play. I have my suspicions about the latest MS update bogging down system performance though. The gpu score in FireStrike is the same since Creators Update, but since this Fall Creators update, CPU performance has dropped a tad. 3930k C2 HT on at 4.5ghz Clean install of the OS would be next logical step but I just don't have the time, so "process of elimination" is currently ongoing lol! 🙂

Well, I've restored the system completely and performance is the same as it was on .31 now. Weird. No idea why it was suddenly lower in low resolutions.

Yes it's necessary. It doesn't install anything dealing with telemetry. Those files are needed for the installer to work. It'll check online only for the ad splash screens that the nv installer uses.If you disconnect from the net and install the driver, the splash screens remain blank with no ads from Nvidia.

How to disable the NVidia Tray icon in the new drivers?/? Also does Nvidia has anything to do with UXDService while trying to restart or shutdown computer ? saying the service need to be close etc etc.

I am fairly confident it has to do with nVidia as it started for some of us with a previous driver update and the only definitive description of the same issue I can find on the internet has to do with nVidia drivers. There is just probably some bug whatever that service is from nVidia that is taking longer to shut down OR it is sending back information to nVidia despite those of us who have installed minimal installations of the driver sets as the information I was able to dig up about UXD services had to do with information gathering and reporting. Unfortunately I cannot say anything definitive about what it is as I don't have enough information to go on that would surpass speculation. On another note, if you install your drivers with the "free of crap" or "minimal" installation you are missing out on the latest Vulkan Runtime Libraries provided by nVidia so I have decided to host them for anyone who wants to install them. I will try to keep the folder up to date.

There is an option in Nvidia Control Panel for it. Not sure what it's called right now, I'm not at the PC. It's somewhere in the menu bar up top.
