Yeah its annoying. Come home from work turn pc on have to restart. Shouldn't happen Nvidia. It would be interesting to know why this is happening.. what does the restart process recognize that shutting down doesn't? :3eyes:
Seems most 600 series cards are having this issue. I saw a Nvidia rep on another forum acknowledge people's feedback on the issue.

good drivers for FarCry 3. however, they didnt fix multiplayer running SLi crashing at the end of a round, guess thats all on Ubi now...
Fixed the crap DX11 performance but DX11Mulithreading still causes glitches.

I've seen a few people say that when playing Battlefield 3 the game seems to run slightly stuttery. I too have seen this with these new drivers but I have also seen it running butter smooth. This leads me to believe that it is not the drivers but more of a server problem. I played several hours yesterday on Caspian Border and some Aftermath. I noticed stuttering on some servers but nothing on others. Just food for thought ๐Ÿ™‚
Its a driver problem, I've noticed it right away after the installation of these drivers. I went back to 306.97 and the stutter is gone, its like it stutters every 5-10 seconds no matter what you do, stand in place or move around. But I have definetly noticed FPS improvements over 306.97, but still its too bad it stutters like this. -.-

I got the stutters too after every 310.xx driver installation. This may or may not work for you or others as your cpus are not the bottleneck as in my situation but I've solved my problem by resetting cpu overclock to default before uninstalling drivers. After installing the drivers, setting up precision x, rebooting, applying cpu oc and everything runs as it should with no jitters.I've done this with 310.54, 310.70 & 310.90 and they all work out pretty much the same.Maybe you can try that and see.

We should not need to do that, but thanks for the tip. Will give it a shag.
My sentiments exactly! But considering how powerful these new cards are with just driver updates (and better ones in the future) I won't be surprised if the cards themselves are having some sort of major impact on most if not all the other components including mb chipsets.I'm just going off of common sense and observation here as I'm by no means an expert, just trying to help.

I've uninstalled the 310.90's and gone back to the 310.70's just to see if there are any more stutters. I've just had one full game on Caspian Border and did not notice any stuttering. Only time will tell as I had games before with the 310.90's that were stutter free. Bite to eat then back to killing "dem n00bs" hehe.

Gw2 seems to go to black screen to me when I alt tab, out or exit the game have to bring up the task manager to for explorer to appear. on Windows 8, 2x 680GTX SLI
Works fine with 580 sli/win 8 so maybe a 6 series issue
Never noticed that with any driver. Maybe our settings are different, I have everything on High/Ultra except Reflections. Is your LOD Distance set to Ultra?
Thanks, it's quite rare but annoying when i see it happen. Its seems limited to a rogue building or bridge here and there. I'm running everything maxed out in game with no AA and the only changes to nvcp profile are HQ filtering, single display performance and max performance

Well I've just done a good few more hours on it. Different servers etc and all if fine with the 310.70's. No stuttering. Sooooo yes, driver issue ๐Ÿ˜ Wonder if nVidia will look into it ?

With 310.70 & 310.90 in BF3 my cards fans works more noisy than with 310.64. With 310.64 fun noise is satisfactory, with 2 WHQL not.

Big problem with this new drivers, after launching into windows (7x64b) and just leaving it there idle for 2-3 minutes my gpu starts into full 3d clocks and gpu util to max, so i go into task manager and find the culprit, explorer.exe goes to 50% cpu util and conhost.exe starts right before explorer.exe goes to 50% cpu util ( if i kill explorer.exe the nvidia driver restarts with the "kernel has stopped etc." and my newly started explorer.exe is down again to normal idle cpu util. Something fishy here, going back to .70's ! LE: now my default .70's (WHQL) are having the same problem like i had on the .90's, now there's a plague !!

^ Weird must be Kepler issue then, i found this release the smoothest (fastest) from all 310 drivers so far, especially in BF3. This 310.90 is my no 1 driver since 306.97. Finally ๐Ÿ™‚

I've just registered to reply on this post. I dont know if this is the same but I have had this 2 times. Look into your msconfig if you see a weird startup entry like : win32.exe. In my situation there was a virus/script hidden in: C:\Kernels\Drivers.vbs which caused the full gpu load 99%. (note: folder is not visible but accesible) In my situation the solution just was to remove the msconfig entry and then dos: rmdir /s /q c:\kernels And everything is fine again. Hope this is a bit helpfull.
Thx a lot m8! I actually (a bit lazy perhaps) did search for the explorer.exe file location from within task manager to see if it origininates from the windows folder and it didnt, it showed me the exact adress, C:\Kernels\ , u mentioned, but i didnt find the explorer.exe (ofc it was hidden) so i i just left the folder there and didnt even consider it might be the script u mentioned; I cleaned up the file in msconfig and cmd dos command! I've never had malicious scripts hanging around my pc since i had MSE installed everytime i had w7 installed (last time i installed win7 was last month and before that i didnt have to install a new or same OS for 3 years (right before vista) and even last month i did it just to see the feeling of win8, OH WELL im' glad this sorted out just fine, now im getting back the .90's hence the problem wasnt there ๐Ÿ™‚ THX AGAIN ๐Ÿ™‚

Same question here, Driver fusion ask money, free version do not clean everything I guess. Which cleaner is quite populer these days?
i had same issue with driver sweeper not cleaning reg entries but simple thing to do is run a reg cleaner in safemode before installing new drivers

Well I was playing BF3 again with the 310.70's today and I was experiencing the stuttering like effect. Granted I'd nto really been doing much BF3 when those drivers were originally installed on my system as I was in Farcry 3. Anyway I've gone back to the 306.97 and all seems well again in BF3. Not tried FC3 yet but I'll have a blast later on tonight I think ๐Ÿ™‚ Any chance we could get someone from nVidia to have a look at the stuttering in the 310 sets ? Would be nice to know it's at least being looked at. I just hope I'm not back to the crashing again as with the 310's I've not had one crash yet...

This is what i mean by 59.94HZ bug in Windows 8, in Windows7 it displays proper 60.00HZ and another at 59.94HZ. http://i.imgur.com/S7QVm.png So far only Frotsbyte2 engine (BF3, MOH Warfighter). I still dont know if its my Display INF EDID fault or not (Eizo Foris FS2333), Im using windows 7 INF EDID in windows8.. Edit: HDMI 1.4a or DVI happens by both, im at HDMI atm.

Not in black ops 2, 306.97 sucks The only problem i have with 310.90 is with max payne 3, but i think it's a game problem.
