THIS RELEASE IS A HORRIFIC ABOMINATION...at least for my config. While playing Skyrim, the screen sometimes turns dark green (like an old colored camera filter); loading sometimes freezes; noticeable increase in CTDs. Doesn't matter whether I'm OCing or not. These drivers aren't for me.
What do you mean noticeable? Jump from... only 5/day CTD to 15/day That's a HORRIFIC ABOMINATION of logic. You can't accuse newly introduced variable for system instability, if the system was unstable to begin with. Wait... you just did :toke:
like i said this is the only driver that has done this for me since BF3 was released. And changing back fixed it,it leads one to think the only variable is the driver ....
This is at least seemingly decent logic 🙂 It's still false, because it presumes that just because no errors have been observed that the system has been flawless all along. For example system may be just barely stable and when performance driver gets installed, chances are that it will become unstable. And I'm not trying to piss anyone off, just saying how it is...

the nvidia installer wont install physx - always says installation failed. Ive tried downloading earlier versions of physx from guru but when I try to install it always get the message "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable". this is driving me nuts. Im on windows 7 - help please

OK so I installed PhysX 0807 over 0613 then installed 0904 over that but UT3 still refuses to load. It will only load for me with 0613 or earlier. This is the error I get in the Event log: Faulting application name: UT3.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x49cb0f31 Faulting module name: PhysXUpdateLoader.dll, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x4eb4b411 Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00002eff Faulting process id: 0x5ea0 Faulting application start time: 0x01cdb21cdb52017f Faulting application path: E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Unreal Tournament 3\Binaries\UT3.exe Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common\PhysXUpdateLoader.dll Report Id: 1b547ba9-1e10-11e2-a50e-00158315a310 It doesn't crash, it just never loads (the UT3 logo never appears). This is the same error that I get in Trine but that just crashes when I resume my save. :( So just how are people playing those games with this build? Is it because PhysX is set to use the CPU (as per MrBonk's post)? Mine is definitely set to Auto-select.

I managed to find a workaround for the PhysX issue which allows me to still have 0904 installed and play UT3 and Trine. Here's what I did. 1. Install PhysX 9.12.0904 as normal. 2. Extract the contents of the PhysX_9.12.0613_SystemSoftware.msi to a folder using 7-Zip (WinZip or WinRAR may not work). 3. Find the two files called PhysXUpdateLoader.dll and PhysXUpdateLoader64.dll that have a hexidecimal number at the end. Delete the excess characters so the filenames read as above in bold (you'll get a warning about changing filetypes but just answer yes). 4. Either backup the original files or rename them in the C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX folder (I just added .bak to the end of their filenames). 5. Copy the new files from the extracted PhysX_9.12.0613_SystemSoftware folder to this location. 6. You'll now find the games will load (at least they do for me) but you'll still have the latest version installed. *EDIT* I've uploaded the two 0613 PhysX files if anyone wants to use them instead of extracting the files themselves: PhysXUpdateLoader.dll PhysXUpdateLoader64.dll

Hi all, Manuel and I are both pretty busy with an internal project, but I have read this thread and forwarded it to the relevant parties. Also worth noting that several of the issues mentioned here have been brought up on GF.com and have been responded to already: http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/articles/nvidia-geforce-310-33-beta-drivers-released#disqus_thread Thanks, Andy
You have made it look like there is a discussion thread at this link. There isnt. All this link does is tell us the performance differences for the GTX660 and the GTX680 and tells us the general updates this driver brings. There is a link to the "NVIDIA Display Driver Feedback Form", but there is no discussion.

He was talking about the ongoing discussion below the charts.

Odd, I cant even see that! I use script blocking and have unblocked NVidia and GeForce, no joy.

It's using Disqus, make sure you've everything which interferes with it disabled. I had to disable the Ghostery add on to fix that.

pfft, so much hassle. NVidia need to stop being underhand. Maybe this is why they stopped their forum, they want to track posters. I havent found any other website that requires me to reduce my browsers security in this way. [mini annoyed tag]

Either your OS update from Vista to win7 is a bit buggy or the game itself (try steam repair) or try my trick mentioned before regarding low physx performance - it could also fix some game conflicts and cause your crashes..
I replaced PhysxLoader.dll (from year 2007) in UT3/Binaries/PhysxLocal folder with newest PhysxLoader.dll found in nvidia physx common folder and PhysxCore.dll (from year 2007) in UT3/binaries folder, with newest PhysxCore.dll in nvidia engine 2.8.4.8 (C22346819C37) folder. Now it seems to be "ok" - still not the best fps but at least its not with low 20-30fps and low 15-25% gpu usage.
^ This is with the latest PhysX_9.12.0904 since i cant downgrade anymore.. I had PhysX_9.12.0807 before with completely uninstalled older PhysX_9.12.0613 driver and UT3 ran "ok" physx all 3 maps. Edit: i see you found workaround, btw the game will still use their default Y2007 dll's, if you try my trick you could see a little better performance with newer files, i tested all 4-5 noname 2.8.4.8 dll files and this dll found in C22346819C37 looked the fastest by min fps. 🙂

went ahead and did another clean install,7 mins into BF3 same crash, reinstalled last WHQL been playing 80 mins now with no issues.
me2, got 3 random crashes.

Hm BF3 or Crysis2 MP were both fine, i played at 930mhz @ 1.074v, vram 2200mhz. But i noticed BF3 was slower by explosions and especially by cpu bound locations, 306.97 was a little faster by min fps (around 3-7fps on avg).
data/avatar/default/avatar05.webp
ya just finished another session with the WHQL's and stock clocks 1176 and not a hicup or crash ,last session was 3 hours non stop.Wonder if its 600 series only related? I havent seen it reported here or at EVGA with this driver with the 500 or lower cards.
I haven't played BF3 for 3 hours straight but did play it for an hour, it ran just fine for me.

With these drivers the Battlefield 3 has much stuttering, before using the 306.97 WHQL and everything works with impressive smoothness. 310.33 Beta has been installed and all the time Battlefield 3 has stuttering. Other games seem to work well, but Battlefield 3 is the worst. GTX 680

I am getting black flickering on the half bottom part of the image with FXAA in Dawn of War 2: Retribution with this set of drivers. It makes the fonts blurry anyway so not a big loss, but I wonder if I'll have problems in the future with other games if I try FXAA on them.

switched back to 306.23, BF3 got too much random fps drops and overall it got slower performance.
