EA fails to understand we want realism with world war games. Not white woman with mechanical arms or black or men or woman wearing face paint.. May be there was a black squad in this world war but that would make them .000001 % of the amount who were there. Not exactly enough to justify having them take up 50% of the intro and game play. ...
Hilarious. First of all nobody cares about hIsToRicAL aCCurAcy if the game is fun. BF1 wasn't historically accurate either, and neither were any of the WW2-related CODs. The closest FPS games have come to accuracy is Red Orchestra and Verdun. Secondly, there actually were many black soldiers in WW2, and not just a few units here and there. Most were fighting for the US, France, and UK, but there were even some that volunteered to join the Wermacht. They were in the infantry, artillery, navy and the air force. Why not look it up? Do like 5 minutes or even 10 seconds of research.

thx for the history lesson. I am so going to exploit the building stuff with my shovel kinda sad if they don't have m1 rifles sticky bombs and a beach like setting with boats

I don't think it's people having an issue with a female character being in the video game, or how much melanin a certain character has in his skin, the way I see it the main issue is how the characters were portrayed unrealistically within a World War 2 setting. If this were Battlefield 2143 for example, showing female soldiers, characters with any type of skin color, heck even robot characters, there would be no issue with Battlefield fans, I myself would be ecstatic at such a game being released, but no instead we get this game, and then when the fans of the series didn't like what the saw, they expressed themselves to dice about it and were told if you don't like it don't buy it, and now we see that pre orders are down because of this fact. We know why these types of characters were shown of course, because EA will be selling micro dlc within the game to "give player choice" to make the character look different. With that said, the BF5 raytracing demo was really good, I can't wait to see more games with that, it's kind of amazing.

They should make it so the German side always lose no matter how many points they have. Wouldn't want to alter reality now would you :3

Although if you are to use that argument, the Germans did win a lot of battles now didn't they, the war itself... well... they of course typed GG in chat at the end.

They're not going to sell many microtransaction items with standard soldiers wearing standard combat gear from that time are they? The whole representation shit is just smoke and mirrors. Don't take their games too seriously.

I'm sure there are people who legitimate just want more "realistic" uniforms ect (which is possible btw and from my fairly large amount of hours played can say none of the cosmetics affect gameplay) and I totally get that I respect their opinion but when people start with
We shouldn't be having any blacks shown within this game.
It's hard not to see it as the people who are throwing hissy fit as the ones who are pushing their own fucked up agenda.Honestly reading some of these comments I have to keep reminding myself that they are talking about a ...video game.

The game doesn't have be connected to the reality so precisely.
It’s a world war 2 game, it should represent how things were on the front lines in world war 2. If you begin telling history the way it wasn’t, just to be politically correct then you are re-writing history. Which is disrespectful to all who were present during that era. If Dice wants to make an alternate universe world war 2 and include that as part of the storyline then that’s absolutely fine. Command and Conquer Red Alert did a fantastic job with that back in the 90’s with their full motion video clips.

What if they just want to tell their own fictional story inside WW2? Is that not allowed? They have to recreate an entire alternate universe? They can't build a fun story around a ragtag team of misfits on a fictional mission to kill Hitler or something? When that trailer came out I looked at it as a fictional story. The color was comically saturated and the dialogue and animations, the entire scene really, looked like a Nathan Drake Battlefield game. I thought it was pretty cool they were going in a different direction; then I come to Guru3D only to see people completely outraged that it's a female as the lead character. Even if it is trying to be historical, couldn't this character just be a representation/tribute to the female soldiers who did fight in WW2? or even the women at home who contributed and watched as their sons/husbands returned in boxes? It's not like you can represent them any other way in a Battlefield game.

^ At least someone gets it. Where was all the outrage for the hundreds of movies that have used ww2 as a backdrop but have used their own characters, events ect? I wonder if people think they are a realistic portrayal of what ww2 was. People are acting like this is the first piece of media ever to use real world horrific events as a backdrop to a piece of entertainment.

Maybe if the girl didn't look like Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn with Adam Jensen's augmented arm, i think people would have been more accepting of a girl on the front lines in a WWII game. But they made her look so out of place that she'd be better suited as a sci fi protagonist. Think back to Wonder Woman. She wears metal underwear, has a laser lasso and a tiara. Looks totally out of place in WWII. But when Steve gives her some 1940's attire and she puts them on, suddenly she looks like she's part of that era and can blend in believably: https://i.imgur.com/iFYL0ym.jpg This costume and makeup looks totally out of place: https://i.imgur.com/Q3VmSR0.jpg

she is cute and did well in the movie but they did wonder a big injustice because wonder has bigger cleavage . I am not just trying to be stupid either, seriously
