For some of u guys having issues with either the cpu or gpu not folding at the same time my 2400g was only folding on the CPU at first but a few hours later when I checked they where both folding. Same as my 2600+gtx1080 at first only the cpu was folding but looked a few hours later and they where both going just be patient it takes time to find a workload I guess

Have the Folding servers broken down?
I am stuck at 6 download attempts on the CPU and 25 attempts on the GPU.
The personal folding home web control page just keeps refreshing but finds no connection to servers, connection to my app looks ok.
The GPU now started working in the desktop app, first time i see that happen, but still no connection to the web control.
Maybe they have too many people helping compared to the server or internet speed throughput.

My 3900X is running fine blasting through a WU now. 76C max temps so far and a steady 4.0-4.2GHz across all cores. Not too bad.
But my 1080Ti simply won't download any WU's.
Also I can't select COVID-19 from the drop down menu, it only states the standard diseases. Also the protein viewer is broken too, it just displays the demo viewer and not the protein you are working on.
Anyway I am going to get my second PC working on this too, that has a 2700X and a 1080 so that should help a lot too.

ok, i downloaded it, started it, put Guru3D as Team, etc etc..
Now it works but its only using my CPU not GPU..
anyone know why?

It might start after some time not doing anything, once you have received the go you can pause at any time.

Same for me, alot of people are having issues with the GPU. It keep attempting to download the WU as you can see you have 5 attempts. I think its just a waiting game to be honest.
Also how did you change the theme? I like that one you have but I can't find where to change it.

Big recommendation, change the checkpointing frequency in the configure>advanced tab. Default is every 15 mins. I changed mine to every 5 minutes. I think if you pause it will start back up from your last check point so you could lose 15 minutes of work.

My 1080Ti started working on WU11745 (this is a COVID-19 WU) and my CPU is working on another different WU.
I have a 3900X which is a 24 core CPU...... It was around 25% complete when my 1080Ti started working on a WU.
My 1080Ti just surpassed my CPU. GPU is nearing 80% complete whilst the CPU is nearing 65% complete. Either the WU on the CPU is a really hard one to complete or GPU's really are that much faster than CPU folding lol 😱:p
I got my 2700X and other 1080 working downstairs too. The Mrs is going to have a nice shock when the electricity bill rolls in HAHAHA 😳

Pausing creates a checkpoint. The option you saw is the maximum checkpointing interval that avoids loss of work in case of an unexpected crash. Pausing is not an expected crash - it is a graceful exit.
Lowering the maximum checkpoint interval reduces your throughput.
That's a 12-core CPU with 2 threads per core.
Workloads are different with each project and each FAH Core. CPU folding uses Core a4 if I'm not mistaken while GPU projects use Core 21 and Core 22. The projects are also of different complexity. They are not directly comparable. However, I'm not sure if CPU folding is worth it anymore given the points they reward for each unit. I remember back when we had "bigadv" work units on CPU, the point rewards were great. It seems that these work units had enough complexity / size as to be infeasible on GPUs, but I believe that is not the case anymore.

Thank for the info on the checkpoints, and I know the 3900X is 12 core 24 threads dude, but saying 24 cores makes my epeen that little much larger 😉
I used to run F@H years ago for CustomPC magazine but I've forgot most of my knowledge on it now, I stopped just after they began using GPU's.

Ive noticed if u have it at the lowest setting only the CPU will work it has to be medium or higher to have both the GPUs and CPU going at the same time.

Go to web view and it should give some info on the WU on the bottom left portion or the browser. Well it does for me.
I currently can't see my points page nor can I search for GURU3D team page either. So there is a good chance the servers are getting hammered, which is kinda nice to think considering what this is for 🙂

Would prefer it if you could select covid-19 projects. Im busy folding Project 14401 which simulates several myosins found in the human body. Nothing to do with corona virus 😕

Yea I left my PC on over night to fold away and woke up and it had done 2 WU's on the CPU which were both not COVID-19. But hey, its still for a good cause.
Its nice to see them overwhelmed by support tbh 🙂
