That seems like a reasonable number.
Processor prices are also really fair here - there's a tiny premium on the 499$ price (after including danish VAT of 25%), but it's not RX 480 levels of price inflation or anything like that.

I'm about to build a new PC for my son. I think one of these RyZen setups will do very nicely indeed. If these perform as good as initial leaks, then this is going to be a win win for everyone (except Intel, this is)

Indeed a very Ryzenable number 😀

I found a 24h preorder offer with 75€ off.
1700X for 365€ was just too good, preordered. 🤓

I'm all onboard the Ryzen train, even with insignificant price drops from Intel, there's still no significant reason to upgrade my 5820k unless I go 6900 which is still ridiculously priced with the cuts at $999.
Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until 2ndH '17 for the 300 series chipset to build a Ryzen rig. I'm ITX all the way.

It's crazy to think about the next several months, talking about sometime in 2018, these prices will be even cheaper for these Ryzen cpus with the performances you get. Holy smokes.

I really like the sound of all these high performing Ryzen CPUs for comparatively cheap money in relation to Intel, but it is making me concerned that my recently built rig with 6700K is gonna become obsolete earlier because of it - in terms of future gaming, GPU upgrades, and 144Hz/144fps targets. I'm wanting my CPU to last at least 5yrs and one or two further GPU upgrades (well into the architecture following Volta).

microcenter for 999 USD.
That's still twice the price of AMD, and (likely) even the Ryzen 7 1700 can battle that processor at just 329 USD.
Yeah I noticed that news on another website and did some digging on the 8-core parts, but they really aren't price cuts? The prices mentioned are still the same as they have been for a while now.
Example a 6900K was like 1100 USD at launch, right now you can purchase it at Robbo9999

Hi all!
Now its serious... I really cant understand WHY AMD will sell this 1800X with at least the same performance of the 6900X by USD 499??? Why they do this??? It would be priced at minimum of 599 - 649 with the same sucessful...
AMD last years is in a deep loss and now with this GOLD CHANCE in hands they do this?
Someone would help me to understand it? I cant understand...

oh yeah like guru isn't a gaming/hardware community? well I am sure the ones looking for more cores and almost being as fast in games have their 7700k set ups for sale right now
well who says its a better cpu for gaming?
I am sure amd has a good grip on being the second place cheaper option 🙂
who would argue with almost as fast all around then a 1500usd cpu for 500usd?but ....but....
we really do need some fire for all this smoke cus I did not see the goods yet and you know anyone who does have one now would never ever say anything bad about it.

He knows that - he's saying that either way you go you have to buy a completely new setup, but with Ryzen it's way more affordable because the $500 you're not spending on the CPU can go to all those other components.
While the 1700 doesn't directly go up against the 6900K - this screenshot really puts things into perspective:

ahhhhh we still have to wait/that sucks lets just give them the win in everything
I know they are going to ruin my fantasies
