I only game a few hours a week, and that is shrinking. I probably will not be doing much upgrade hardware as far as games are concerned. I have my eye on a couple releases the next year or so and that may be it. for me.
Yeah, that's about the break even point with those subscription services I guess. More games, and you're better off with those subscriptions, less than 2 games are more often than not a bad deal. But that's taking today's cost of subscription services. If they increase prices, you'll soon find that you could maybe buy 3 games... and then 4... And with that, like you said, comes the time when you play less, and / or less frequently with changing life situations, with maybe blocked times where you make no use of a time based subscription service. Triathlon season's starting, or so I've heard 😀 less time for gaming if you have to train for that obviously. Or any other sport. Or kids, gym, more work with higher positions...

Subscriptions give access to games that are somehow hidden gems, that you can try without a great cost and you can end up linking it. I played Chorus on Gamepass and liked it very much, ended the game and it was a very nice experience. Maybe I will get it on Steam of GOG in the future. Is not all bad, but you need to realise that the game is not yours and can be removed at any time. It happened to me with Plague Tale Innocence, I was playing it on Gamepass and it was removed, bad luck.

What I really miss is going to computer swap meets ("fairs"/ "shows") in the late 80s/90s. I went in the Bay Area and Sacramento. As a teen, that was peak nerd-zone with gaming and hardware wonders galore. Not sure how that relates but it just sprang to mind with the death of the out-of-date E3. Bring back swap meets! :-D

I don't need E3 and their cancel every year. Geoff Keighley and his Summer Game Fest is here to entertain us, E3 may cancel forever.

The Hero in Zelda is a chick now? Why is anyone surprised. If they made a new Avengers movie.. Pepper and Black Widow would be saving Ironman and Thor all day. Thanos would have never did the snap either. Women are far superior! Just like in the movies when you have a woman that is 110 lbs soaking wet and she is spanking 5 big men at once.. Cmon guys, this stuff is totally realistic.

There should without a doubt be a law that ALL games must come with a demo BASED ON GOLD CODE! how hard is it really just give people access to 1 or 2 levels, or an hour or two of an open world game. They have many different builds of games during development surely it can't take much longer to put together a simple demo or limited access build when the game goes gold. It is not like a movie or tv show where you can watch a trailer and judge if you want to watch it or not, games are different they have to be felt much like a car. Every dealer will allow you to test drive before you buy as just looking or reading about a car isn't the same as actually driving it. All these early access games and games released broken is what puts a lot of people off. Sure there are some great examples of good early access games they have delivered on what they promise but for every game that does this there are ten others that don't.
