My Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB kit is amongst that total, all of us "upgrading" our AMD Ryzen systems must have had a fair impact on sales...

Just 65% , they are not trying enough , RAM should go up at least 200% 😱 😱

As long as the manufacturers don't create ODREC, Organisation of the DRAM Exporting Corporations, and agree on production cuts and increases for all eternity to keep prices up.

So the increased price is for the most part...just profit...great. /s

Well I guess there are people out there who do not care on what the price of RAM is as long as they get it regardless. With me.
Well this shortage stopped me from purchasing another 16GB of RAM for my gaming laptop because I refuse to pay $170-180 bucks for the damn thing. And thats DDR4 2400 mind you.

I think it's kinda disgusting how much RAM price has risen over the last year. So there's been a shortage of production, well that just sucks, even if it wasn't 'planned', they need to get their act together - restricting supply through incompetence or planning & thereby increasing RAM prices to line their pockets with record revenues - it's disgusting really. They should be biting the bullet and not passing the entire portion of the RAM price increase into the consumer chain if they have RAM shortage issues, no excuse for making record profits when supply is severely restricted, whether that be through incompetence or planning.

I have to say i felt dirty paying 200$ for 16gb ddr4 for my ryzen especially since the cpu only cost me 230$ both on sale too. (canadian btw)

I think i had 16GB DDR2 many years back in time... I still have 16GB now. RAM is the only PC component that is stuck... in terms of capacity and pricing at least
I really do believe it is much harder and more expensive to produce 120GB SSD nand flash memory than a 16GB worth of ram - that is not a lot of transistors anymore, these are tiny tiny quantities

dram prices up and profits up who would of thought thats possible eh

Yes ram is more expensive than it was earlier in the year but still no where close to what I paid for 512MB back in the day (P60) ~ $500 | 600. Ram used to be a premium...that is what forced programmers to become more efficient with how data moved in and out of ram. Cheap storage hdd/ram prices gave rise to bloatware. Time for system to correct itself. I hate the prices but welcome them at the same time.

I refreshed my system this year, bought used parts ,funny thing is i can get more for my used third hand RAM now then what i paid at beginning of the year. 😡 😡:D:D:(

no competition(real) and we see results. As for some time Intel, or Nvidia, now samsung and hynix doing...

The artificial BS RAM prices are part of the reason why I'm not bothering upgrade.
