Well the games that i have issues with are iRacing, CS:GO and WarThunder. So games that are kind of old.
Are you using Chill and/or VSYNC? What's your monitor refresh rate?

boombastik:

When the radeon software host application starts in the background (usually 2 min after restart the pc), the windows timer resolution change from 15,625 to 1. The latest driver that dont change this value is the 19.12. https://ibb.co/cTmYwXf
interesting find boombastic, ending radeon software host application in task manager restores default 15,625 https://randomascii.wordpress.com/2013/07/08/windows-timer-resolution-megawatts-wasted/

Reddit reports are very positive so far. Time to test.
because 1st post is like "reply with positive feedback here" and pr team started to spam gold. cheap trick tbh but works apparently

-> https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/favtfv/radeon_software_adrenalin_2020_edition_2022/ Fixed bugs highlights
Esiq With this new driver: No more black screen Disco Elysium Can start Monster Hunter World multiple times in a row without black screen Can enable shadows in Total War Warhammer II again without screen going green and purple Can run 3Dmark again without driver crash No more Hearts of Iron IV black screen during map load No more Frostpunk black screen after starting game in the first 4 minutes (couldn't play at all) And the best thing, Adrenaline would (in the past) crash after shutting down a game, now I could re-open it every time without the driver panel crashing, could test everything without rebooting the PC after closing a game/application. It works good now. Like any other driver, I did do a DDU clean, installed driver, selected standard profile and went to testing. Also tested the games with FPSmon as overlay, still working. So far this driver is a huge confidence boost for me. adobongkamote Screen artifacts in the menu of Dota Underlords and Rainbow Six: Siege is now fixed for me. Chantaz BF5 crash to desktop (memory error) FIXED Borderlands 3 stuttering FIXED Witcher 3 stuttering FIXED RDR2 performance 2 FPS increase Overall the 5700 XT is more silent! Wow! congrats to the team. Well done. I thought I was gonna return the card tomorrow. Chantaz BTW, 0 RPM state has also been fixed. And no idea why but the Junction temp is now down 10 degrees Celcius. This is my first FULL AMD build ever and I'm now really happy with the performance đŸ™‚ Kudos! Duncan088 NO more downclock or sttuter on Apex legends, No more crashes on discord or chrome Thx AnxtyMelon24 So far a lot of small issues fixed for me, (5700xt) and also NO MORE RANDOM FLICKERING AND ARTIFACTING ON DESKTOP WITH A GAME RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND Thank you AMD, I really had a feeling this could be the driver. Keep it up, it's big progress just for the fact that I can actually OPEN radeon settings without using task manager to end all radeon tasks first. Having hardware accel on programs again is nice too. Alt tabbing is smooth as silk.
IMO solid release :P

Performance Overlay still gets closed for some reason...

Come on man if the problems are there what diference it will make. What you said is irrelevant. Give them a break. They also reply to people with problems. My findings so far is that the card really clocks higher. And the clocks are really stable. Thats amazing. Stuttering is mostly gone. The card also boost even when the gpu usage is not 90+%. Any downvolts you people made you have to retest them. Before I was 1070. Now I had to increase to 1090 due to the card exiting 2000 a lot. The card never crashed at 1070 only the game and that is also good.

how many MWs are wasted due interpreted or managed programming languages and virtual machines? xD PS: games use QPF/QPC which precision and accuracy are in order of few nanoseconds on modern machines (post-vista era).

Not using either of them. Refresh 144hz, though i'm using 4 monitors. 2x 144hz, 1x 120hz, 1x 60hz. Didn't have that issue with my RX580, if i remember right.
If playing on the 144Hz one, try limiting CS:GO to 130/130. Also suggest post #32. Try not to let affected games control the frame-rate.

ThatBusch:

You mean limiting to 130FPS? I will certainly not do this, since CS:GO plays poorly below 200FPS. I appreciate the help though. The stutter issue doesn't happen that often, maybe twice in an hour, for like 5-10 secs each. Same for other games.
Yeah. At least for me, it goes above the limit. Too bad that doesn't work for you. Seems silky to me with Freesync @ "130"...

BlitzTown:

I tried all these fixes and all the ones i could google no luck.
Odd. If it doesn't crash, the performance has been solid for me, no matter the game/driver...

Ivan Obscura Valentine:

Am I the only one who actually have overheating problem since updating to 2020 edition of AMD drivers ? i tried it more than 3 times now, each time i go back to older drivers it gets fixed, when i install any 2020 driver version overheating starts again, no clock changes and nothing strange, just overheating, fans are also working
I've never experienced overheating issue with my 580. The only problem I encounter with Adrenalin 2020 edition is the micro stutter in some games, others is running smooth.

AMD Radeon Adrenalin Holy Mutha Of Bugfix Edition 20.2.2
data/avatar/default/avatar13.webp
Installed, i got a problem with fans... my fans with these drivers are always on 0, and i cant control it with Afterburner... With 20.2.1 i could control it in "manual fan" with afterburner, now i set it to 20/30/50/100% and nothing happens.

What exact card you have @joaoameixa88 still AMD Radeon 7950?
data/avatar/default/avatar29.webp
@SpajdrEX No, im with 5700 XT (red devil), with previous driver i could manage my fans speed, now its kinda bugged, cause sometimes i set it on manual (afterburner) and fans start working but 5 sec then they stop. Installed drivers with ddu, i dont know if im the only one with that bug.
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/147/147322.jpg
@joaoameixa88 why not use fan settings in Radeon Settings? does it miss anything important to you?

Alessio1989:

Not until 20H1 is released to the public on WU.
indeed, people have to realise that 2004 is still in the slow ring, its not even in release preview yet.
Undying:

Used ddu and installed just fine (disabled internet while installing). Gonna do some testing and few games.
I recommend scrolling a heavily active twitch stream in chrome or firefox to test for the black screening.
AlmondMan:

Ffs, I just sent in my RX 5700 XT to RMA for this earlier this week....... But it might be suffering from worse problems, since it could happen when doing almost nothing but browser work.
That was literally the most common black screen issue in the driver.

Did you upgrade the driver with AB running?

Some games may exhibit stutter intermittently during gameplay on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products. Come on, thats the most annoying issue for me...
Seems you can lock the frequency now with Radeon Settings. Well done AMD!!!!! It doesn't cause the card to get hot an it doesn't increase the wattage usage.

Yes, the option is back! Thanks for the tip! You have to left click the "State (n)" you wanna set to either minimum or maximum.
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/278/278745.jpg
Locking performance states will make my memory overclocking much easier and I can feed it more voltage, pretty happy about that đŸ˜€

At last they fixed the texture issue in Modern Warfare. Still early days but apart from weird screen issues just after a clean install all seem ok.
