Shader Cache may sometimes fail to enable or may not correctly cache shaders for games. A limited number of Radeon FreeSync enabled displays may experience a blank screen when Radeon FreeSync is enabled in a game. Finally they fix Shader Cache, it was not working as well Freesync blank screen too.

I hope they actually delete when you hit the clear cache button now. I've been manually deleting them for a while now.

Sometimes they are still in use, closing RadeonSettings.exe tends to help or if needed the system app or whatever the cache file is currently locked by. πŸ™‚ (AppFrameHost.exe, Explorer.exe and ShellExperienceHost.exe for example.)

Budget Cuts, RTG must really be feeling the pinch now! πŸ˜€

For this driver the INF shows support for two new mobile Vega GPU's and related info for settings and such. AMD694C.1 = "Radeon RX Vega M GH Graphics" AMD694E.1 = "Radeon RX Vega M GL Graphics" And there might be a new display setting. HKR,, PP_CNEscapeInputBlockchain (There was already an existing HKR,, PP_CNEscapeInput so something similar for compute or the block chain?) Driver is dated May 29th compared to May16th for 18.5.1 EDIT: And not much in atiapfxx.blb compared to the previous driver, minor tweaks and bug fixes then I suppose though well that's pretty much what the release notes show already. (Along with improvements to the shader cache though I guess it still catches the occasional system process but perhaps it's intentional although I can't see these having any noteworthy amount of shaders requiring caching though I guess there's a reason why C:\Windows or %WINDIR% isn't excluded or blacklisted even for the AMD Optimized default value.)

I've lost "contex menu (right click menu) radeon settings. Uninstall with DDU and went back to 18.5.1 and nothing again. Uninstall again with DDU and install 18..5.2 still the same. Strange, it's not something important but why? https://imgur.com/a/DayKWIx https://imgur.com/a/DayKWIx
what is the driver version in device manager? maybe windows install their own version... this is a specific problem with your system.

One thing of note is that Firefox also disabled hybrid VP9 support for AMD GPU's in the newest beta version of Firefox 61 citing driver issues and degradation over the last couple of driver releases as the cause. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=3040367
#1461268 [Core:Audio/Video: Playback]-Disable AMD hybrid VP9 decoder [Uns][]
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1461268 Guessing 18.5.2 here doesn't resolve this. Might be of interest for people using hardware acceleration for video playback (Youtube in particular.) and on AMD GPU's or CPU's lacking native VP9 decoding so it would be using AMD's hybrid mode and now as of this it's using Microsoft's mode. (On Windows 10) I think the setting for this is technically disabled by default too. (media.mediasource.webm.enabled flipped to true.) but it might be good to be aware about this change. (And then this should show if VP9 is OK or not. https://www.youtube.com/html5 )

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/31850483/ Also Unity Engine games might be a bit "effed" with 18.5.1 and newer. So if it crashes on start that might be why. (And exactly *why* isn't a issue like that part of the listed known issues again? It's not like Unity Engine isn't used on a couple hundred or so games from the last few years or anything.)

everything seems fine. before installing the first driver that created this problem had you ever used DDU? from my experience DDU creates more problems than it solves and should only be used if no other solution is possible.

Yes, i always use DDU but never had problems. As i said it's not a "big deal", just wanted to see if any other had that issue. Thx anyway πŸ˜‰

The Crew 2 Closed Beta, Fast Performance check. I will target High Preset @1440p 60FPS Tested with Chill and without it, CPU @~4GHz 3080Mhz 15-15-15-28-47 LLT 2T Good performance at High settings (Menu-> set to High @1440p w/60FPS CAP & SSAO+FXAA, no other AA availbe in Demo, we need RP to enforce SMAA w/HDAO Ultra) Almost feels like Forza with Boats & Planes -> TBA Lot of fun in this one πŸ˜€ Visual Quality is here, but it's not Forza Level (UBI is not there yet) Not tested Ultra tho, I will soon w/SSAO+ Bottom line, Fiji is quite capable of delivering good performance in The Crew 2 1440p Fiji & Vega should fly 390X/580X etc. 1080p 60FPS @High NP == RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION – 60 FPS: Resolution: 1080p Video Preset: High OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions only) PROCESSOR: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.2 GHz or equivalent* VIDEO CARD: AMD RX 470 (4GB / 8GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or better) SYSTEM RAM: 8GB Hmm, Demo is buggy, can't go with Plane mission, leaving to menu.... o_O -> K fixed now == UPD. In game e.g. Race, drift etc. Game runs very good with Ultra/High preset SSAO/FXAA & Blur OFF, shadows Medium But, you need to lower this to Medium when roaming in City ! (Yes Game runs similar to WD2, hmm maby it uses same engine also ?) Still if you want NFS like Racer -> Forza H3 or NFS: Payback is better choice (Performance wise choice) or just wait for Forza H4 πŸ˜€ Bigest UBI mistake is to not taking the DX12 rute for those titles: AC:O, Crew2, R6:S & GR:W + WD2 -> Yes they have good Snowdrop Engine with decent Dx12 implementation (Division is good example) == UPD.2 The test (on new Batch it looks better) -> https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/rx-vega-owners-thread-tests-mods-bios-tweaks.416287/page-24 Also all new Game Benchies from GameGPU are now in Vega Folder (older tests are in Fiji Folder)

so far so good, driver has been pretty uneventful for me...

Performance monitoring again doesn't work in games that it use to with these drivers.
