BuildeR2:

It can't be 399.99, that leaves no room for the hotfix for the hotfix's beta hotfix. They need some room so that the 400.00 can drop when the new GPU's are announced.
and probably the next gen will be called not gtx 1100 nor 2000 but gtx 4000

398.98 caused my GTX 1070 GPU temperature increase from 38C to 45C when idling, rolled back driver and all went back to normal.
Impossible. Perhaps your ambient changed?

Rihter:

Nope, thats why it caught my attention.
That should not be possible because voltages and fan speed run off bios data. Did you note what changed, voltage or fan speed? Nothing changed here as far as temps and even performance. Edit: the only thing that could be is if clocks were running high for application, like if it was set to high performance.

As @EdKiefer wrote above, driver cannot change clock/voltage settings. Hence its in driver setting that changed. Such as performance mode, refresh rate, gsync, game profile e.t.c. As a test, you can back up with Nvidia inspector your current profile which will include all the settings for all games/apps, install the new driver and with Nvidia inspector import back the "stable" settings.

DDU removes any traces of any Nvidia driver. Are you trying to install correct driver? This is the one you need, just in case.
I already posted that that's the driver Geforce Experience installed. However, installing a driver on it's own doesn't work and gives the error msg. (Just to clarify my original post, I'm reporting the fix I found, not looking for a fix).

headsup if you play Wolfenstien II / DooM This does not include the fixes from 398.46HF

I think it's safe to assume that Driver version 400 is reserved for the new GPUs. I wonder if it's this time we're getting a new NVIDIA control panel because the Windows 98 looking one is getting tiring, sometimes takes forever to load games and it's settings, it's always been like this. NVIDIA Inspector loads the game settings instantly (apart from when loading all profiles, which is something the NV CP doesn't).
Please stop, the windows 98 one was this https://msfn.org/board/uploads/monthly_2017_04/58fe2f7fe630e_DESKTOPW98SE.PNG.7ebdbc090deaf958480f9daad82ef64c.PNG

I know the whole "hotfix" stuff has become a meme at this point, but i do like the fact that Nvidia is always actively working hard to fix the major problems.
True but it would be nice if they did a bit moe quality testing so they don't need all these hotfixe's in the first place.

Is it me only or Far Cry 5 is going down hill fps wise with each succesives driver version? Though game also was updated.

Thanks! BLOPS4 stuttering was really bad. Question is if this driver fixes performance issues in MH:W too?

I also think that we'll get a few normal drivers (399.XX) and when the 1180/2080 series are officially released, we'll get that 400 series driver with hopefully a completely overhauled UI 🙂

Since the installation of this driver I have my PC that glitches after Windows "Turn Screen Off" and I have to Reboot to solve the problem. No problem with suspension instead. Is This a Known Problem? Gigabyte Geforce 970 - Win 10 1803

no issue here with these after display goes to sleep.(MSI GTX970 gaming). What type of issue are you having? I would try installing the same one again (clean install) and if it still happens, try going back to the latest nonhotfix one

I've seen this only once in a very long time. More than likely, the driver reset some setting, like having my desktop set above 144hz(does it for me) will not allow my GPU to downclock to 139Mhz, it stays at 1569Mhz( not full tilt but...) and this in turn causes my idle temps to increase.

Odd. I am also running 17735 and had no issues installing this hotfix.
Hi, did you do a clean install or upgrade?

Finally got this driver to install. Win10 Pro 64bit Insider build 17735 Bug; Appstore apps in full-screen (Gears of War: Ultimate, Forza 6: Apex etc) is off by 2 pixels, which means there's 2 lines at the top of my screen, which is showing my desktop.

Make a topic on Nvidia forums and report it. 😉
