This one installed on my PC through windows update and I didn't even notice it, up until I got a few crashes while playing. Since then I have unninstalled them, downloaded the manual installer and made a clean install. I still have to test to see if it works ok now.... It has been a long time since I had problems like this, be it with nVidia or AMD drivers.

Many thanks for sharing this. It seems to have fixed an issue I was having with Train Simulator 2015, namely that enabling Dynamic Lighting caused the graphics to go all 'dark' such that the only thing I could see was the train's cockpit!!! Clearly, the modded drivers I was using did not install properly. These drivers are also shown as WHQL certified in DXDiag's Display properties.

The uninstallation of programs works fine with these drivers.

For the time being, what would you recommend as an alternative setting? For us Nvidia owners is there anything which comes close to nnedi13?
You can use NNEDI3 scaling via SM5.0 in MPDN: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=171120 But this program is more complicated, less polished and yet has limited chroma scaling options (NNEDI3 currently just for luma) and yet less aggressive deband filter. However, if you want NNEDI3 luma scaling with new drivers, it's the only choice and it gives a great image quality though. You can try to find alternatives to NNEDI3 in madVR: For chroma, Jinc AR is great if you aren't watching pixel art. For luma, you could try super-xbr. Since it extremely suffers by ringing of the source, I wouldn't use a sharpness above 75. You can try to get a sharper result with upscaling refinements like SuperRes or AdaptiveSharpen (wouldn't recommend the other sharpen methods there). However, it will still not be NNEDI3, it simply can't be reached. Let's hope Nvidia will have fixed it before madshi introduces NNEDI3 via SM5.0, since the latter won't happen any time soon.

Thanks for sharing that. And there's me thinking after updating to the latest version of Madvr I could run nnedi luma and Chroma at x256 (usually x64) whilst frametime wasn't even being touched. Now I realise why my gpu wasn't making a sound, Nnedi13 wasn't even activated! :bang: Prior to nvidia's stupid move I was happily using a 980ti to run nnedi13 at 64x for Chroma, Luma and upscaling; 1080p > 1440p. Jinc is probably best choice after NNEDI3.

LOL here is the Win 10 and you use Win 7? 😀 XD Use Win 8 or 10 and no more crashes...
I am using 7 to and no problem with crashings, 10 is still to much 8.1 wich is bad, the phone look.

Something weird going on with these or it might be since I upgraded to Windows 10 but had to increase my overclocks to get the same clocks as I had in Windows 8.1, seem stable enough tho

Why is there only DirectX 11.2 and WDDM 1.3 capability on Fermi-architecture?
Simply because Nvidia didn't gave us DX12/WDDM 2.0 support yet (which they promised for Windows 10 release)

To me it just smells being very lazy and playing on time only, untill that time i guess everyone will replace their Fermi GPU and just upgrade to new architectures :P
yes because programming video card drivers are easy... The Nvidia drivers have more lines of code than the entire Windows OS. At least they have a driver out for release. My sound card on the other hand Creative hasn't released a single Windows 10 driver yet... :\ I hope this driver runs well for the GTX980Ti so far haven't been too impressed with this card. I think fixes for this card kinda got put on the back burner with it being released soo close to the Win 10 release.

In this situation you wrong, nvidia has promised to have DX 12 driver for Fermi for the beginning of win 10. Even ManuelG did that as well. Not once but several times. Also asked him about any alpha or beta stage of the driver but no reply apart from : nvidia will release once the win 10 RTM is available . Pls correct me if i am wrong but win 10 has been released already at least to my best knowledge. Also ManuelG has disappeared in the shadows from Guru3D.

Not saying you are wrong, ofc coding GPU for entire new system isn't something easy, but they made some promises, and now they changed it suddenly.
