You may want to double check that 461.40 installed properly.. I Installed 461.40 on top of Windows 10's default 432.00, ticking "perform a clean installation". The setup process went through ok. I rebooted the pc and thought everything was fine. But it seems there's some confusion which driver is installed on my system. NVCP states that 456.71 is installed, apps & features thinks 461.40 is installed. This is the only Nvidia driver I have installed since installing a fresh copy of Win 10 20h2 19042.746 two days ago. Nethertheless I'll be using DDU to wipe the driver later. https://i.imgur.com/hoMIObu.png Edit - I think I've worked out why this happened. After clean installing Windows 10 20h2, Nvidia driver 432.00 installed itself automatically (as it usually does), I checked again for windows updates and noticed there was an additional Nvidia driver update available, under "View optional updates". That driver must of been 456.71 (it was worded slightly differently, a longer number, the same format as it appears in device manager). I chose not to install the optional driver - as I was going to install a more recent driver anyway, but once I began the 461.40 installation, it seems Windows intervened and decided to install 456.71 instead. It almost seems like the optional 456.71 driver was already downloaded, waiting in line to be installed at the next opportunity it could get (interupting Nvidias setup in the process!). I suppose one way to prevent this from happening would be to install Windows optional Nvidia driver prior to installing 461.40. Steps to reproduce : - Install Windows 10 20h2 19042.746 (the exact version may not matter) - Let windows install the default 432.00 Nvidia driver and reboot - Check for Windows updates, click "View optional updates", there should be a Nvidia driver available but do not install it - Download and install this 461.40 driver - Run the installation - Select custom - Tick "Perform a clean installation" click next, let it finish - Immediately restart Windows - Open Nvidia control panel, click system information and check driver version, it will say 456.71

Still no fixes for the high DPC Latency in both the 461.06 and 461.33

Still not fixed: [World of Warcraft: Shadowlands]: Random flicker may occur in certain locations in the game [3206341] [Supreme Commander/Supreme Commander 2]: The games experience low FPS. [3231218] Wallpaper Engine app may crash on startup or upon resume from sleep. [3208963] [Batman Arkham Knight]: The game crashes when turbulence smoke is enabled. [3202250] [Steam VR game]: Stuttering and lagging occur upon launching a game while any GPU hardware monitoring tool is running in the background. [3152190] [G-SYNC][NVIDIA Ampere/Turing GPU architecture]: GPU power consumption may increase in idle mode on systems using certain higher refresh-rate G-SYNC monitors. [200667566] YouTube: Video playback stutters while scrolling down the YouTube page. [3129705] [Notebook]: Some Pascal-based notebooks w/ high refresh rate displays may randomly drop to 60Hz during gameplay. [3009452] [G-Sync][Vulkan Apps]: Performance drop occurs when using G-SYNC and switching from full-screen mode to windowed mode using the in-game settings. [200681477] To workaround, either launch the game in windowed mode directly or disable G-SYNC.

Looks to me that Nvidia developers are just doing a total shite job in the past years. Performance improvements on driver level are non existant anymore and issues and bugs are plenty taking forever to be fixed (IF). For the money we pay for those cards it's a lame job, no credit to them whatsoever from me.
Could always try do better bro?

Kosmoz:

nvidia does not even list the performance increase with new drivers that are supposed to be optimized for new games... All new AMD optimized drivers give clear numbers of performance gains and are usually true... and this happens for years now. They each have their issues, but at this aspect (optimizations) I feel AMD is more transparent.
I noticed that you can play new games with older drivers with no problems in most cases, looks like nvidia is just fixing bugs and havent add performance in a long time.

there is no such thing as "adding performance", it is not like it is a decision should or shouldnt they "add" performace... when performance is "added" it is basically just performance being corrected to nominal levels...

Something definitely wrong with this driver. Maybe something wrong with the G Sync between my RTX 3090 and LG Oled48cx with the driver. Only tried two games F1 2020 and Dirt 5 and gone from super smooth to constant rate of jerky graphics like playing at much lower frame rate. Did a normal install and DDU clean install with same result. Gone back to 461.33 and all smooth again at 120hz. Oh, one thing I did notice that the G Sync little splash screen didn’t appear after installing like where it asks so set up G Sync in the Nvidia Control Panel

Off topic: Gigabyte added Z390 new bioses with BAR support, last weekend.
Many boards have received support. ASUS even added support to their B450 boards.

And still nothing about resizable bar from Nvidia's side....
It's supposed to be coming out in February or March for the RTX 30 series.

Again - black screen after waking up my laptop from sleep. Will they ever fix that?

I have tested this driver in VR and true, there are no stutters in Alyx with 3080!

I noticed BAR status is listed under info in NVCP - Unfortunately it doesn't look like Asus are going to update z370 boards 🙁

Well spotted, I wonder has this reporting feature been there all along or is this something newly added to this driver branch, waiting for the VBIOS to be in place?
