That was quick. Have you tried them and how do they compare to the 416.16 I'm currently using? Thank you for posting this!

Hotfix is working exactly as previous release. Graphics Score in 3D Mark is exactly the same (0.02% difference) and quick DX12 Deus Ex benchmark resulted in +0.32% FPS, so no supersizes there either.

Anyone get a pop-up box asking to install the sound driver, even though it was checked before the install process? First time I have seen that normally it just installs whatever you checked off.

I see a post over at the gforce forums, that there is an issue with the audio certificate, may be whats up.

whats Standard vs DCH?

The audio driver is missing WHQL certification, which is required by machines with secureboot enabled, nvidia has been made aware.

Modern Driver Architecture program, for security focused OEM machines running Business editions or Windows 10 in S mode. It also requires the nvcp store app.

That makes sense, it was a window's "do you trust Nvidia" type thing. I picked the standard, nonDCH one

If your computer is part of the MDA program, you only have the choice of DCH.

https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4736 This is GeForce Hot Fix driver version 416.64 that addresses the following: - Far Cry 5: Flicker during gameplay - Monster Hunter World: Corruption is seen when Volume Rendering Quality is set to highest - The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt: Flicker during gameplay - Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Improves game stability - When audio playback is paused, audio receiver switches from multi-channel to stereo. Increased period from 5 seconds to 10 seconds. [r416_27-7]
as opposed to r416_27-3 in .34 So the 4 changes are reflected directly by the issues addressed list, no point asking if anything else was fixed. Audio driver doesn't count as an incremental change in the display driver itself.

This version does not automatically remove the NVIDIA installer folder.
That was always the case. That folder was never removed in any previous version either.

Actually they recently started to cleanup after themselves, removing the folder it unpacked to after the install finished. And for that matter, so did this driver for me. I don't currently have a C:\NVIDIA, and I didn't remove it manually.

The what with the what now? o_O Is that sentence related to the stereo-issue? Will it now incorrectly switch to stereo after 10 rather than 5 seconds? What a relief! 😛 As for the main part: I remember seeing my AVR displaying stereo at seemingly random and I think I even had to power-cycle the AVR once or twice this month to get the sound back from null format (but that happened after Windows power management turned all the display devices off while idle, so probably a separate issue --- by the way, I always had to power-cycle the AVR after a resume from sleep with AMD cards, so I can't be annoyed by 1-2 sound-format hiccups per month).

Extraordinary:

because I extract and delete the crap from the driver first
Yup, C:\NVIDIA is the default for self-unpacking.

Back to 416.34 , WOW for my system not good at all , used system restore to get things back to normal, hot fix , more like hot mess. Rise of the tomb raider was completely issue free and so was The Witcher 3 with 416.34 before trying 416.64 used DDU to install [all drivers ]416.34 back to the system, issues with both games didn't go away , ROTTR dx12 stuttered and fps drops, The Witcher black screen of death , used plan B! i always make a restore point for this reason and others.

Clean install with DDU Uninstaller, but in Shadow of The Tomb Raider still have the same problem as in 416.34 version playing in DX12. Randomly the game crashes to the screen with the error message : 0x887A0006: DXGI_ERROR _DEVICE_HUNG I'm very sad for this 🙁
Very strange i dont have these problems with my set-up thats odd.

The empty C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver unpack folders are same as always since they started the cleanup. These seem fine so far, run same as all other 39x/4xx drivers for me 🙂

I've one Gigabyte RTX 2080 Ti Gaming OC. Maybe because it is overclocked ?
No its not the oc i think some guys reported the exact same problem on the Nvidia forum with the shadow of the tombraider as well, its probably driver related for them new cards. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1078106/geforce-drivers/announcing-geforce-hotfix-driver-416-64-released-10-26-18-/post/5902004/#5902004 OOh xD i just noticed thats u aswell, but like i said before i seen a few others that got the same problem with the hung error.

Is your CPU, your RAM also OCed? If so bump voltages, or load defaults.
