The drama being caused by the media to freak people out is absolutely hilarious. It is creating unnecessary fear and panic. The mainstream media loves to create fear, get people frantic, and lie to them. If you don't install spectre patches or fixes, nothing will happen to you. People are making a mountain out of nothing, and it is just hilarious.
Never thought I'd see 45 on the Guru3D forums.

better to have and not need it then need it and not have it, and pay the price. the whole idea of saying spectre or meltdown is nothing to worry at this point, When every hacker and want be hacker will now be looking to exploit it and the people that havent been patched. is just asking for trouble. To each there own i guess.

again, its not a fix if the prevention for a broken finger is to cut off both your arms. Provide a fix that has no performance impact and then I'll consider it

I agree although it's quickly moving from hilarious to just plane annoying. Constantly hearing about it and having articles on it all over guru3d. It was funny when the media said we could have up to 30% performance loss and people immediately interpreted it as we will have a 30% performance loss.

Not when there is performance loss. Granted it might only be a few fps but if I can prevent that fps loss with using a certain driver, I will use it. I need all the fps I can get at 4k. I'm going to stick to the best performing driver until this actually becomes an issue. As soon as the first PC's get infected, I will update immediately. I'm not going to lose performance over the 2% chance that my PC is going to be the first infected. It's far more likely I will hear about it first before actually getting infected.

Has anyone tried these and compared them to the vulkan driver? I'm unable to test them now.

I gave these drivers a try briefly. API overhead tests are on par with the Vulkan beta and performance seems to be as well. I didn't notice any settings getting reset on reboot. I remain on rgb full color even after rebooting and everything else is the same. I'm using win 10 1607 and outputting via hdmi if that helps. I did however notice the flickering shadows on COD WWII. Rise of the tomb raider dx12 artifacts from the previous 390 are gone with this driver as well. So in conclusion I would say these drivers are worth giving a shot to anyone on the Vulkan beta if you don't play COD WWII.

Yeah HDMI color settings seem to be holding for my 1070 too. Win 10 1607.

I don't have any issues with it. What games?
I've had inferior performance for Gsync in windowed mode / borderless window since I've got a Gsync screen tbh. Every game I tried was crap. That's why I'm never using it... and why I'll cry tears when they at some point will kill off exclusive full screen mode. Will give these a try today since I skipped .65

Optimized for Black Desert Online ? Interesting, considering that I play that and that it's been out for two years in the west already.

What's your monitor?
Acer XB270HU (144Hz screen). And I can't even remember which driver version... it's been a consistent issue across all of them. But I can live with it 😉

Is the green flickering bug in The Division (dx12) still present?

Why not try for yourself? The game is dead, so you must be "the only one" that plays it 😛

;) Maybe someone has already tested it before and saves my time ...

Downloaded the 390.65 [few days ago] and got ODR and Digital Audio settings not saving issue so had to revert back to 388.71. The issue was confirmed on geforce forums. Now, i downloaded 390.77 but really want to know if the issue is fixed for or not before i install this set. Thanks.

Two words: who cares Sorry I had to. I'll update my drivers as soon as it actually gets used by hackers. So far not one hacker is using it that I'm aware of. In the meantime I'm not gonna miss out on performance over it.
three words: they want you. If they were to use the exploit you would be most likely the prime target as they would be after your massive wealth trying to grab that bank info off you. Got to laugh all that informed us we are wearing tin foil hats when we get rid of telemetry and spying now are so worried about this .... just too funny. The ones worried about viruses but not MS keg logger now want to protect their cpu from what MS has been doing up front for some time. Regards

Once again, hasn't happened yet and when it does, I will patch. I think we have gotten off topic enough. My main PC is fully patched. I'm just holding off on my gaming PC which has no personal information such as bank accounts so they can look all they want. I literally do nothing but game on this PC so unless they want to find out what games I play, they will be disappointed. It's also not fully vulnerable as I did install the windows patches. I'm just holding off on the video card drivers.
