I don't think this only happens on Baldur's Gate 3, I've had one crash playing Control and one crash on Grid: Legends. Weirdly it only happened once in the first hour of gameplay, afterwards it never crashed again (I'm running stock 7900 XT, temps OK).
Unfortunately this software is too old to understand HDMI 2.1 and 4K 120Hz resolution...
And I'm pretty sure the GPU actually needs to run the memory at higher speed than minimum to push over 1 billion pixels per second.
I'm fine with the ~35W ... if I want to really save power, I turn off the PC and TV completely.

Ah man, I've been dying for a fix for this. The random crashing in BG3 is annoying as hell
Anyone else on Windows 11 post KB5029352 update having this issue where the tuning settings get reset back to default after rebooting/turning the PC on? I thought the problem would be gone with 23.8.1, but I guess it's an OS issue, after all.
i have AOC AG323FCXE with 6800XT via display port, single monitor im stuck at max memory clock, 30w idle with 165Hz enabled, 30w idle with 144Hz enabled, only in 120Hz enabled, only when it is at 120hz enabled does the clock return to the normal consumption that I am used to here, which oscillates between 6w and 11w.
Finally! Windows had replace the CP with one of its #$%@ updates a week or so back, so my card has been doing games at 60Hz with default fan curve (I hate that %$#@ 'Zero' fan setting!). So, I've been waiting for a new driver to be released as I don't see the point of installing the same driver again. Okay, will be installing this new driver later as I'm simply surfing the net now ...
Someone mentioned using CRU to set monitors to Reduced Blanking timings, which I always did, but you can actually use Radeon Settings to make RB profiles pretty easily. No 3rd party software or patching needed, unless you're going outside the monitor's range, then it yells at you and says no.

Never had to use cru and make custom profiles on nvidia card using the same monitor.

And as long as you don't mind using 6bpc. radeon settings limits your color depth to 6 and that's why me and many others use CRU.
idling 1% less power still pretty high, drivers reseted all my settings this time so can't be sure, even set my display at 120 hz instead of 144hz but that is probably user error on me.
