Yes, last update was 10/26/18! Good catch!

Windows 7? Am I reading that right?

The actual chipset drivers in the package are the same as the old package, for me. A few are even older than the 18.50.16.01 package MSI provides for my B450 board.

So 18.50.16.01 is newer then ? and we don't need to update ....

18.50.16.01 MSI package has 2 or 3 newer drivers in it...not sure about other brands (Asus, etc.), but even the last AMD provided set 18.10.1810, was the same drivers as these. I guess something in there is updated, but nothing I actually install, which is just the actual chipset drivers via device manager > INF files.
These:
AMDPSP
GPIO_ML
GPIO_PT
PCI_INF
SMBus

...Forgive me for being totally out of my element here, but am I supposed to install this on my ACER laptop which is using a Ryzen 5 2500U? ...Or do I wait until ACER uploads a modified-version onto their support page? I don't understand why this is uploaded if it isn't for everyone to just auto-install right now.

When I installed them the AMD Ryzen balanced plan is not installed, it just shows the standard Windows plans.

18.50.0422 and 19.10.0429 are older than 1.6.13.0400
"This is an all-new chipset software installer with updated UI, optimized package size, package versioning unique to the chipset drivers, and improved installer performance."
AMD and its inconsistent versioning lol.
the versions being talked about previously are listed under the "Previous versions" link.

That article is out of date and irrelevant to Zen 2, even if you use 1903 with its further improved default balanced plan it is no longer correct.

I use the Ryzen Power Plan and adjust the "minimum processor state" from 90% to 5%. This way you still get the benefits of the power plan and your CPU will still downclock when idle.
