You don't need to do it again. The VC Redist installer removes the old versions of 2005, 2008, 2010, and 2012 (including cases where there are multiple entries for each) before installing the latest. Remove the VC Redist packages from the AMD installer just saves needlessly installing them that's all.
I meant that I wasn't aware of how to remove the folders from the 13.6 before doing the actual install. Instead, I compromised by running your VC install -before-, then running the normal 13.6 install, but then because I didn't know how to stop 13.6's outdated VC install, afterward I then ran your VC install again to remove any outdated ones 13.6 installed. Now that I know how to strip the old VC installs from AMD drivers, I'll definitely use that method going forward. But as for now, am I alright with how I've done it? Or should I uninstall everything and start all over again (this time removing the VC folders from the 13.6 install)?

This driver still has the problem playing back 2 videos at the same time. Launch video via MPC Launch second video via web brower on youtube MPC turns black, YT turns green. If I play the YT video first, then can launch MPC and/or a second YT video. 12.4 did not have this problem on my setup. Checking games....

Strange. PNeV I am gettings worse 3DMark Scores than you in the first test but I get more in Fire Strike... Maybe its your CPU pulling ahead of mine? http://s23.postimg.org/8jsrby6kr/Untitled.jpg EDIT: This is with 1200MHz core and 1650MHz memory @ 1.118v

May vary based on browser or if you are using flash video decoding or the new codec google is using... Be careful with that... I will verify it...
Hmmm I use opera but did not check IE... I did update to the newest flash but it may be using a different codec. It seems anytime hardware decoding occurs and I play both MPC and YT in that order, the ati drivers errors out and reloads. Occurs in 13.4 WHQL 13.5 Beta 2 and now this 13.6 beta driver.
Works fine for me doing exactly that, but question is why would you want 2 videos playing at the same time to begin with ?
Sometimes I want to actually watch one video with music from another video in the background. I've been watching two videos simultaneously for a while now and miss this feature now.

Resolves HDMI Audio drop-out issues on the AMD Radeon HD Series products. Ahh, finally! I hope the sound will really work flawlessly now. 🙂

I'm using the 13.4 WHQL and IE10 is my default browser on Win 7. I have had no problems at all.
The driver has problem on Windows 8. Same on Firefox... A Mozilla dev told me that the driver has random memory corruptions and this is the reason you see random artifacts on Firefox. I guess something ain't right for IE, likewise. The same problems on Firefox don't exist on Windows 7. This driver's focus is on programs, but unfortunately nothing about browsers.

You get black videos when you have Direct3D Ex disabled or you didn't install the required Dx9c ( June 2010 ) files. On Potplayer you can control DX9 Ex off/blt/flip modes, but not on MPC-HC. You better make sure you have installed the DxWebSetup. Well... Just saying. Worth a checking. By the way, I really hope all the non-DXVA supported formats will go away asap, old avi ( XVIDs ). Why the driver 13.4 has new date? http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx

I just disabled both, IE and WMP within "Remove Programs and Features" :P No problems so far... I'll keep checking. Incidentally, I don't have CCC installed either.

No chance of a vista driver? Edit: The reason I asked this is because after installing this driver I get a box that says: AMD Catalyst Control Center cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Catalyst control center. I notice in my Device manager the cards say standard Vga Controller. Says in the list the 5800 series where covered. Edit again: I figured it out. Looked in the driver folder and saw no vista drivers at all. Any chance to change the notes so other vista users don't attempt to install?

I had the same install problems in Win 8 X64, couldn´t get the driver to install.. Then I uninstalled all the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005,2008 and 2010 redistributes, ran Driver Fusion 2 times with the reboots again.. This time the driver installed perfectly and is working without any problems so far!

WOW!!! These drivers add some serious heat to my GPU and its VRM's!! In the last driver I was at 1200/1650 @ 1188v and core temp was 61c and VRM's were 64/65c after 30mins of Kombuster burn-in test 8xAA 720p Now with these drivers, the same overclock and my VRM's get to 80/81c!!!!!! and core temp is 67c THAT IS INSANE!! Ambient temp was pretty cold too as I ran the test last night and had a window open too so ambient was around 16c. Had to drop back to my previous overclock 1125/1575 @ stock voltages to maintain what I believe to be acceptable temps. For some reason Kombuster would run fine with 1200/1650 @ 1188v but as soon as I load a GPU hungry game up like Metro LL I would get flashing black/white squares of floors and walls in certain areas. Also got them in Black Ops 2 as well some certain surfaces.

First Benchmarks must be more CPU based than GPU. Your 7970 pulls ahead in Fire Strike as it should do.
That it must be, as I was getting around 1500fps lol :P

I get 1-2 degrees more, but that's it!
Yea just a few more degrees on the GPU core but my VRM's get VERY toasty with these in Kombuster. Just played a few levels of Metro LL on very high no physx or ssaa and I left GPU-Z open recording both VRM temps to a text file. The hottest the VRM's got in that game was 51*C thats at 1125/1575@stock volts. Maybe this driver just does not like Kombuster or its a false reading as this is a beta driver...?

installed fine on my 5870m, but I do notice a slight stutter in DotA 2 with them. nothing too serious and it doesn't really effect my game play. really noticeable while channeling though.

i got a BSOD when playing Just cause 2, very weird, so far no other games gone BSOD for me when using this driver, don't know what went wrong.

@Valken You might want to set a different renderer than EVR with MPC to avoid black videos. Haali or madVR usually does the trick.
I checked my MPC-HC settings and the renderer was madVR. I switched it over to EVR instead and now I can launch MPC-HC first, then 1 or more Youtube videos in multiple browser windows again. AMD GPU acceleration is working as it jumps from idling 250 MHZ to 500 MHZ. Now the question is do I need to upgrade MPC-HC or madVR if I want to use madVR again? For anime, madVR is awesome. Thanks for the assistance k1net1cs!!!

Sometimes I get driver crashes, I believe caused by flash player (When viewing a stream at Twitch.tv or a video or a tweet with a vine.co video por example). Also got a black screen when I was viewing a stream with Twitch.tv and opened GPU-Z. Anyone else experienced these kind of crashes with these BETA's? I don't think I got them on previous BETA drivers, not 100% sure since I've only been using these 2x 7970's for a month or so before selling my 680 SLI.

Anyone who overclocking, as in changing clocks or voltage, and experiences random artifacts at desktop needs only to do one thing. Unplug and replug in your monitor. There is a known issue that requires the monitor to be disabled and reenabled to not have these artifacts. Afterburner 3.0.0 beta 7-10 have incorporated an option to automatically do this for you when applying an overclock. So please, anyone with desktop artifacts, especially after applying an overclock, either unplug/replug the monitor or d.l the newest ab betas and let the option do it for you. This should fix 99% of the desktop flickering issues.
