How about using actual pixel metrics instead of marketing-metrics for display resolutions? What's 10k ?

Odd they only meantion 2.0 being able to do 4k 144hz, when looking at bandwidth they can do 240hz 4k hdr with 54.85gb, they might be able to go to 300hz before needing DSC. Still these are sadly coming slow, maybe be around for next generation of GPU's assuming they hit the mark there, shame the 3000/6000 series never got it

In the grand scheme of things, where does HDMI stands against Displayport ?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/53/53598.jpg
^^Bandwidth wise HDMI has 18gig, HDMI 2.1 have 48 gig and DP 2 has 80gig of raw power bandwidth to put it simply.

Delayed due to common sense more like. I mean what would be the point of releasing a DP 2.0 monitor when absolutely no graphics cards on the market support it? And since new graphics card architecture usually takes 2 years to be released and the most recent release was September last year, we probably won't see GPU's with native DP 2.0 support until September 2022.

More like this has nothing to do with the corona BS, and more like they have no market to sell it !? there are no cards out there that would support these monitors..

Doesn't matter, there's enough stupid people that would buy them.

10k is 10 times FHD or your old 1080p. For example a FHD display is 2MP while a 4k is 8MP, so 4k is 4 times FHD. There's nothing wrong about the marketing here, no one wants to read the xxxx*yyyy numbers that don't mean anything at first glance.

back when monitors were always 2 steps ahead of "mainstream" it made sense to have a more powerful pc centric port, but its been a while now seeing the opposite happen, its the mainstream leaving monitors in their matte-LCD-1440p dust, and HDMI 2.1 has stepped up enough to make DP irrelevant at this point

no is not linear brother ... 4k is roughly 4 times the fhd in pixel count and the 8k 4 times the 4k ...so 16 times the fhd ..4x4 ... etc etc 1080p = 1920 x 1080 = 2,073,600 pixels 2mil 4k = 3840 x 2160 = 8,294,400 pixels 8 mil so 4 times the fhd in pixel count 8k= 7680 x 4320 = 33,177,600 pixels 33 mil so 16.5 times the fhd in pixel count 10k = 10240 x 7760 = 79,462,400 pixels 79mil so 39.5 times the fhd in pixel count ....hooooooly macaroni ((the millions are rounded up if it is bellow 500k goes to 0 for simplicity ))
