I might buy the original remastered Witcher. Was the first game and the one who sparked my curiosity about the lore.

I'm interested in the first game remaster also, never got to finish it because it was so clunky for the time. But I finished 3 and then 2 loving both, I need to close the circle!

Idk - while I'm sure the game is going to look great on UE5, I'm kind of sad that the RED engine is going away. It's nice to have some large, fairly independent studios, building their own tech to push the industry forward. I didn't care much for Cyberpunk's gameplay but the graphics were outstanding and performance was decent for what's on the screen. It was cool to see what they were able to craft out of the engine.

The first Witcher is still my favourite because it was different.

I agree. I think the consolidation of game engines to be one of the worst things that`s happening to the gaming industry because almost every game is going to look similar... I`m already dreading the day From Sotware announces that they are also going to use Unreal engine for their future games...

IIRC the first Witcher game used the same engine as the one that was used in Neverwinter Nights? It was pretty cool what they crafted out of that.

I think it was the Aurora engine first used by Knights of the Old Republic, which is crazy. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are right. Aurora Engine. But Neverwinter Nights first used this engine in 2002!

While it is expected to introduce fresh lead characters distinct from previous entries...
I sincerely hope this won't be a disaster like wolfenstein young blood..."fresh characters" that destroyed a franchise. Witcher without Geralt...Wolfenstein without Blazkowicz: they both start with "W" and Geralt was the "white wolf".enstein - I see something in my crystal ball:p Also, why - if the lead character of the franchise is gone and buried in this new series - they felt the need to capitalize on the name "witcher" and why not starting a new franchise?

I think it`s a good call. Sooner or later they have to move from past characters and introduce new ones, to freshen up games. For me the (big) problem is that this maybe a signal that CDR will no longer take risks with new IPs and instead will just milk the Witcher series like there`s no tomorrow...

No choice, the ESG score gives cheap or even free loans. No idea why Blackrock pushes woke insanity, how could it possibly benefit them...

...like Activison is doing with COD series.... Anyway, I loved the first Witcher and the others were very good - the universe, story, characters were great - let's hope this will not be another sad example of a great franchise going to the toilet because of "new" ideas.
