Nothing its just annoying. I want a finished game. Gives us time to get the hardware for it but its obvious that something is going on we dont know about.
For me it's great....closer to Christmas holiday - so a lot to do during that time - with COVID crisis increasing I can't go anywhere, no holiday plans, so this and COD.
Delayed from April 16th all the way to at least Dec 10... almost 8 months total delays. Something is going on which they're not telling us.
Yes. Most people think that it's a GTA clone. The fact is that the game is actually a Deus Ex immersive sim on the scale of GTA, that is what every game journalist playing it has reported. I cannot even begin to fathom the amount of work required to make that into a proper RPG on top, with reactions depending on what your character is or what they do.

That's why RPG's usually work better with a fixed character, like geralt, cause it means you can make the story and dialog alot more comprehensive, without overloading the amount of choices and possibilities the developers need to take into consideration. The fact that it isn't a fixed character makes me think the story and dialog will likely be a bit more shallow than in witcher 3.
I just have to laugh at people who get butt hurt for a game to be delayed.
Dude you need a chill pill: it's not cancelled, just delayed for quality reasons!
I'll wait for GOTY for sure, even if that only comes 2022. I want the best experience and until then I'll have a new GPU+monitor combo.
Meanwhile, I'll play Witcher 3 again and other games.
People really need to chill over a game release date.
NO, by implying that postponing a game for the fourth time will gurantee it will sell millions anyway and be "better". (please reread your comment if in doubt)
You still have not answered my question, so let me make it BIGGER, DO YOU HAVE A CRYSTAL BALL? (yes or no will suffice)
The preorders are already over a million and presumably any work on the game is making it better. Don't need a crystal ball - just a brain.

Of course working more on it will make it better. If the core game is broken, then there is zero hope anyway, but this looks like it's time for polishing.
As Miyamoto said, a rushed game is forever bad. Also nobody entitles people to force others to do anything with their creative process. How old is everyone.
Usually that's the case, but there have been phoenixes once in a while. Take No Man's Sky for example.
Either way, I'd rather this be delayed than broken, and I feel people have been over-hyping it way too much.
really they just should never had announced an official release date.
This^ I really wish gaming companies would stop announcing release dates unless the game is already done and ready for distribution. This kind of stories about delays are not good for anyone involved.
But i guess the pre order money is too hard to resist... And maybe even essential for completing the games...
