That actually looks pretty sick.

Finally a kick ass sized ultrawide, not some boring 16:9. I want this. Dwarfs my 49 inch superwide!

This is a panel for the 48" LG OLEDs cut down to 45" and somehow made more flexible... It's still a tad too big for everyday use. Maybe a future model will use the 42" panel cut down to 39" or so ? That would be bigger than the usual 34", but not that much bigger.

Now this looks like something to replace my G9 lol. But I am guessing price will be double of my G9

Help me understand: What's the gimmick about a flexible monitor? I've seen it changes in the video but for what practical use case and reason?

curve customization

Curve customization is right, you never really sit back exactly for the predetermined curve that monitors come with. This way you can customize the curve for your view distance or even per use case, marvelous tbh. Like for a FPS game or even driving i'd get that curve pretty aggressive and then for RTS or MOBA playstyle i'd prob just do a flat screen, very neat.

Hmm. Okay. Sounds weird but I guess it's one of the things you try and like and then refuse to go without it, but never had an idea it would be something one likes.

Yep, curved monitors are actually very good for some uses, not all of them definitely. Having a choice in one device is really nice, its gonna cost like two devices but yeah... 😀

So, this isn't motorized in any way, right? The video shows handles appearing, but no hands to pull them, so I'm thinking this is a manual bending operation.

To sell it at a higher price

99% of the people will just bend it once and leave it like that

It's very cool I must say. My biggest problem with it though is the pixel density. 3440x1440 resolution is too low for a 45in ultrawide. That gives us around 83ppi. That's almost the same ppi of a 1080p ultrawide 34in monitor. Some may be fine with it, but IMO anything below 90ppi looks poor for desktop use. I'm also curious about text clarity since it's an LG OLED panel.

I had a curved 35" 21:9 120Hz for years and years, always looking out for the next obvious upgrade. Finally got tired of waiting and bought the new 48" OLED LG C2. I love it, but I do wish it were curved, and the regular aspect ratio has taken some getting used to again. However, it is nice to have the extra vertical in games like Cyberpunk where so much of the visuals are vertical. Just funny that the moment I finally give up on waiting for exactly these kinds of monitors, they start popping up.

Amazing i must say. It would be better if resolution was higher but still very nice. I hope we'd see this coming mainstream next year.

at this size I was hoping for 5120x2160 but otherwise this looks promising, other than the stupid gsync fan and accompanying markup

3840x1600 would also be fine at that size.

This would be the holy grail of gaming monitors for most people in that case; the pixel pitch, curve radius, diagonal size, refresh rate, contrast ratio, etc would all be approaching the limit of diminishing returns. You could probably be happy with a monitor like that for the rest of your life.

Yeah, we are definitely hitting limits of what is a usable computer monitor. 4K in a 30-32" is already too "fine" for most, unless one has godly sight, there is little to no need for smaller pixel sizes. As for actual display size, anything over 40" is pushing it and becomes uncomfortable to use on a desk. What needs to change is the pixel technology itself, moving to microled or something that doesn't burn in, a display that looks fantastic and works for 10+ years, that will be "peak monitor"... until scientists find a way to plug our brains directly into the computer without the need for light and eyes.

funny how many in forums think what is "acceptable/uncomfaortable" to use. stop applying "your" use/setup requirements to the rest of the planet... anything bigger than 27 and you want to have at least UHD res, or you will see screen door effect when using browser/office. while im happy using a 50in (2ft for desktop use, 2-4ft distance for gaming/watching), a 48in would look a little better close up (dpi), and shift the center of the screen a little up. just not gonna rely on Corsair to force LG not to use ABL on this, nor do i expect LG has actually "fixed" the burn-in/blue oled "output" drop (i can see their logos/video info producing a greenish tint on content. on their oled displays. and this on displays running for less than 12 month (store enviroment), when the equivalent sony (using same panel) shows much more "text/logos" thru-out their vids, and still do not have that problem. i know its an extreme case with units running from 9-9 with the same content on repeat, but if i see one brand without problems others have.... and it was so obvious, even customers looking to get an (LG) oled, switched from buying a new LG to getting my store displays.
