The guy from the original article you posted is contradicting himself then.

Thanks for nice review Hilbert... Quote from review, last page: "...The new DRM even keeps an eye on CPU changes...". I hope that CPU OC up or down is not considered as "CPU change" so that DRM would be triggered by that "change", that would be maximum stupidity...

bigosik Ok we get it AMD runs worse, let them make a driver latency optimization for it. I think you've proven your point few posts above

Not really! GTX970 is in almost every game faster http://www.hardware.fr/articles/932-21/benchmark-tomb-raider.html ....consume less power, much quieter, PHYSX GPU, HBAO+ bits /AA bits etc. way better card imo.
Dude we get it, you got your point across. It's not necessarily about the cards, it's about the drivers. We know AMD tends to screw up drivers from time to time.

... MP too.:puke2: AMD have huge problems with the frametimes http://www.hardocp.com/article/2015/02/09/battlefield_hardline_video_card_performance_preview/6#.VRNVGOExmUk The game runs way better on NV cards.
No, they just do not measure with FCAT. Meaning the spikes you see are internally measured in the game engine, not what you see with your own eyes. E.g. they measure the rendering engine and not display output. This is the sole reason why FCAT was introduced as it plots what you actually see. http://www.guru3d.com/index.php?ct=articles&action=file&id=15352 The article has been updated with extra UHD results and fcat you guys. Indeed a tiny hint more frame pacing latency in-between frames, nothing dramatic though.

Well thats unfortunate. Sometimes fraps, internal engine and FCAT will yield identical results. But of course the proper way to measure frametimes is FCAT.

Nice, thanks Hilbert, man the 290X holds on pretty good in 2160p and 1440p.

I cant find mantle benchmarks anywhere. Does anyone know why? Sorry for my english

It will be interesting to see what the benchmarks show when Windows 10 is released. I believe both Nvidia and AMD are working on their WDDM 2.0 drivers more so than making their Windows 8.1/7 drivers better. As I said in another thread, realistically this is fair enough, because doing heavy work on Windows 8.1/7 drivers now is kind of pointless and Microsoft would prefer they don't anyway. If you want optimised drivers, just take Microsoft up on the free upgrade offer. Why should Microsoft, AMD, and Nvidia spend time and resources continually developing for stubborn people that can't accept change 😉. The driver support doesn't affect business running Windows 7, Server 2008 R2 etc, since basic driver support can still be provided and games are a non-issue for them. Windows 10 won't show a true representation just yet, as they are still in their infancy, and Windows 10 isn't feature finalised or full feature optimised as yet.
That's a good point. With the limited dev resources each company has, it's impossible to provide the same level of quality of Win 7/8 drivers, when they spend a lot of time and effort on Windows 10 / DX12, especially in this initial period. Plus, when free Win10/DX12 upgrade is released, I think we can expect really quick stop of support for Windows 7 and 8.
