Nothing new, there is one passively cooled X570, the excellent Gigabyte X570 Aorus Xtreme.

Sometimes, I wish I had money and knowledge to carve my own heatsinks with a CNC machine. Yes, not cheap or cost effective, but hey, man can only dream.

the sad reality is a chipset heat sink is not expensive unless you cnc and powder coat it.
and if one's really smart offering a fanless chipset on a mid-range model should only be a $10-$15 dollar premium even if its copper. no, you don't need to nickel plate it and you can even play off of the copper with a related color scheme.

I don't get why any of them need fans in the first place. It's really not hard to passively cool 10-15W. Proportionately, you have to displace a lot of metal to fit the fan.
