So... in the end it wasn't a big deal (temperature wise).

nice bit o' software but the prices are ridiculous. the x670p wifi or the B650E would be the boards i looking at for my current build but Gigabyte and MSI have way better pricing. there isn't as much of a ROG "tax" as an Asus "tax" - wait a minute i almost fooled myself - that Rog tax is on top of that Asus tax

Yeah. My Asus B550-f board is doing some stupid stuff with booting and sleep. I have a confirmed RMA but they won't cross ship and can take a really long time. I am very likely going to find a Gigabyte or MSI 570S board and upgrade mine. Was considering a full upgrade but costs are so high right now. Plus, it's not like it really matters much at all since I have a 5800x as cpu scaling is pretty pointless.

the gig has a nice feature - usb 3.2 header for front panel... running the x570Si on gaming rig it's usually under $200, the B550 version doesn't have the headers but is $20-25 less

The GIGABYTE X570S AORUS PRO AX is on sale for 219 on Amazon atm. Probably going to pull the trigger.

it's very nice. my gaming rig is sff so i chose itx i'm in the process of building a 7900X rig to replace my productivity rig (Gig X570S Aero) but i'm waiting for a few more boards to surface in the market. so far the MSI and the Gig are leading the (plain) X670 pack re: pricing. i traditionally use an Asus/ROG (before the x570S aero) for productivity but their prices are wacked out of whack

Interesting. I've got an ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F and a 7700X on the way. Looking forward to trying this.

I ended up buying the X570S. The B550-F from Asus was having issues and Asus would not cross ship the RMA. I have a 5800x so in no hurry to upgrade ram and CPU too. Not a great time for the old board to go all flaky but its fine im sure the 5800x will be great for many years on it.
