Maybe I am misreading the announcement, but at no point does it say to immediately stop using said boards, give any way to identify a board which is clearly dangerous(I am aware of other unofficial sources, but am talking about official Asus information), or even advise an immediate return.

it's inevitable that some manufacturing defects happen. but Asus has the most automated production line in the business (by far), so this suggests (to me) either a programming error (unlikely...from them) of the CAD/CAM variety or more likely a bad batch of componentry from a supplier.
it's all very weird as many Asus products (certainly most ROG) are tested before shipping.

thanks they don't say extremes had that problem but I'll look at my serial anyway tomorrow
