Buy what from Nvidia? There's nothing to buy if you want the new architecture. By the time 1060 hits the market, the 480 cards from AMD partners ought to be on the market as well. Those will have a DVI connector, no doubt.
If you need dual link dvi, it makes a lot more sense to buy a used gtx 970/980 or even a new gtx 1070 than to fork out 240+100$ for a 480 and an active converter. Honestly, nvidia is really an awful company as their market strategy is against the customers best interests. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to do what makes better sense.

I'm sure there will be some DVI on some RX 480 but if want it now then you have no other option or just wait I do believe I show photo from Sapphire Radeon RX 480 Nitro with DVI
