yeah watching on the phone is kinda inconvenient. it really makes for a good portable browsing/streaming device.just expensive.

What do tablets do? Enable oems to increase the price for a 'good' laptop. The price of iPads/mobiles is ridiculous. But... if you pay it, the price will keep on creeping up.

Don't forget the brand... In Apple ecosystem the tablet replace the laptop, laptop is for pro. With their OS you can do most of the things without keyboard, and if you really need one then you have some too... Don't forget that the 1st M1 were on a tablet that were more powerfull than the laptop.

An Apple pencil costs over $120....wow.

And the good thing is, that you can throw it away a few days after warranty expires, cause sth. tiny died... Nobody can fix it any more & the apple store charges almost the same price like a new one or even more, while your data that was stored solely on the device is potentially lost, after the 'apple repair' took place.... so yeah, a good value for money, indeed. 🙂

Are new iPads really that unreliable? I still have an iPad 3, the original iPad Air and the old-new iPad Air (2019 model), and they're all working fine. Granted, the EOL ones are now painfully slow and no longer updated, but there's never been anything wrong with them hardware wise.

I have the LG V60 with the dual-screen case. Being able to watch YouTube Netflix and other stuff on the other screen and still using another screen to do stuff, the point in having a tablet or a regular phone just it's pathetic at this point now. And not to mention being able to watch stuff while doing work emails on my phone at job sites is something else amazing with the multitasking

New ones are fine (regular not pro), didn't run into any abnormal issues with them.

Had around 1-2 ipads out of 167 from productions 2017-2021 that died, so you make it sound worse than it is. Had way more batteries dying in 3-5 year old HP 640 ProBooks while our really old Lenovo T models just refuse to be killed.

:) Since the Air it's been pita to replace the digitizers. 🙁

My 49 inch superwide would disagree on that.

A have LG dual monitors. Can still do that on an ultra-wide or a large 4k HDTV. Without Windows 10 sticky corners and bezels to boot! Larger resolution and wide-format displays have reduced the need for a second screen, unless you need a second screen for the office to show someone sitting on the other side of your desk, or you are a twitch gamer who needs exclusive fullscreen while your kid watches a video on the other screen.

I tried dual monitor setup just as a goof,I was actually gonna sell the other one. I liked it so much I'm never going back to single. Having one,big UW is nice but unless you can use split screen and run things in both windowed and fullscreen mode,I'm gonna say it's different form two physical ones. Reading documents and scrolling internet pages is so much better with an extra vertical display. Here's how I set up mine
https://i.imgur.com/TEwMhvI.jpg
