I didn't even know that blue light causes bad sight, I just thought it is a strain on the eyes.... interesting technology though, if it really helps me keep my already impaired vision for longer 😀

There's no credible evidence that might suggest such problems except for people after some specific kinds of eye surgery performed long time ago. The research is either inconclusive, has too small control group, or papers contradict each other without greater reflection. Yet it doesn't stop marketing departments from scaring people in order to sell more stuff. Stay skeptical 🙂

Well I've heard that it makes your eyes "tired" faster, which doesn't say they get physically damaged. Thanks for the intel on the research though! But then again, having reduced blue backlight isn't on my top list of qualities for a screen anyway 😉

The tired part is another thing. It may (or may not) also help you stay awake for longer. I'm just not a great fan of using fear to force people actions into certain paths, like that blue light, anti-gmo, anti-nuclear, anti-vaccination etc. Anyway there are some many cool monitors around for years and manufacturers find it difficult to sell some new ones. I've been using mine for over 5 years, and I don't think I'm going to replace it before 4k (or other interesting ones) with adaptive vsync are widespread.

I see no reason to remove any part of visible spectrum. And 380-450nm is partly visible. For some it is fully visible since usual person sees 390-700nm. My glasses turn dark in reaction to UV from Sun, UV LED, UV lamp, ... They have never darkened in front of any LCD screen. So, if there is any UV emission it is extremely week.
That's a great thought. Thanks!
