$399 and we have a serious contender on our hands

Any word on if AMD is going to continue pushing HBM with this card or will they be going the gddr6 route now, I'm all for the advancement of HBM but gddr6 seems much more viable in terms of cost.

LOL. This is not Vega 20. Hell is it not even Vega 64 as it is way faster than this. Also there is no proof. Someone got the bar chart and added a value. Damn fake clickbait articles.

If it is real it should be priced under or up to RTX 2070. I do not see any Vega 64 with that price tag. I hope 7nm make prices more realistic and viable for AMD fans. Also I am interested to see improved consumption and thermals.
Vega 64 (Nitro, Red Devil) is cheaper than 2070 in UK and is way faster. Even the reference if you buy used is faster assuming you can live with the blower cooler, and chop (reduce) 50mv-75mv from P7 & P6 states, raising the HBM to 1100. With those settings it even beats watercooled GTX1080 @ 2190 burning even less power than it

Vega20 PCI ID's in the Linux kernel are 0x66A0, 0x66A1, 0x66A2, 0x66A3, 0x66A7, and 0x66AF so this does indeed match the actual hardware. That doesn't in any way mean the results are legit though.

Or it is and it's a vega20 56model. That said full 64chip could have some room to spare

This, plus if it's a prototype then it's likely not running at the clock speeds of the final product. Could also be someone faked the PCI ID and uploaded results for something completely else. Either way we can't really draw any real conclusions because we don't know what is being tested and how.

Assuming it isn't faked, that PCI ID is in fact from Vega 20: https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=Vega-20-RadeonSI-Gallium3D AMD's actual developers have basically proved that the ID is Also, nobody said this was the successor to specifically the Vega 64. There are several PCI IDs; this is just one of them. For all we know, this could be a mid-range chip or even a Firepro chip of the Vega 20 series.

I can use Paint.net to generate the same images showing the same ID card beating the RTX2080Ti by X%. Is fake. Because they used the ID doesn't mean they bench the card.

You all realize that Vega20/NAVI is more then likely what Polaris was too Fury. Wasn't a performance improvement but a low power indentical or slightly faster then its predecessor. Performance Per Watt card, instead of 300w they can do it at 150w. Seems completely plausible that this is what we'd be looking at if indeed the card was benchmarked and this isn't fake.

Why are there 2 1080s in the first image with such different result?
data/avatar/default/avatar03.webp
I could see a gaming 7 nm Vega happen if Navi is coming in 2019 H2. It is important to keep a grasp of whatever market space is left to maintain the interest of game developers optimizing games for Radeon cards.

Back to green and this is why , , my 290x cfx put up a good fight , but not going to wait forever AMD. [youtube=pOaQrQOLe7k] Back to green and this is why.

Almost as fast as a GTX 1080 huh AMD? Looking pretty good. Maybe you'll finally catch that oldass card in another 2 or 3 years. Looking real good. Fantastic. I just can't wait for AMD to release another way-behind-the-times slowass GPU that still can't compete with 3 year old hardware. Stick to CPU's where you still have a chance. I lost my patience with them. Their GPU division is dead. Completely hopeless, boring, and totally dead.

If AMD can not compete with Nvidia, it should focus on taking one gpu for e-sports, another for 1080p, another for 4k and another for office and HTPC. With the lowest possible consumption and at a good price.

This goes without saying but: 1) These benchmarks most probably aren't real 2) If they are real, they were done with a pre-production development sample 3) If this is really Vega 20, it is not meant to be a gaming card 4) If this is some other gaming card, we have no idea where in the product stack it is supposed to be 5) No one benefits from a monopoly, so saying that AMD should get out of GPU business is like sawing off the branch you are sitting on

it can´t be VEGA20 even VEGA56, 14 to 7nm change, 2048 to 4096-bit HBM@Higher Clocks and Higher Core Clocks must increase performance a lot, no bottlenecks this time... greetings

Why don't you try working for AMD and make a GPU that stomps Nvidia? Seriously you need to chill out. This was expected since AMD almost went bankrupt and spent all of their peanuts on RYZEN architecture instead of their GPU's. The average user doesn't need an Nvidia 1080 gpu since it only makes a difference in benchmarks with a top of the line CPU............ even then you're bragging the extra 10-20fps. Mark my words with the money AMD makes on their cpu line they will drop a load of resources with their GPU team. I give it 1-2 years and AMD will be game with their high end GPU's.
