I suppose it is futile to hope for a 6-core X390 with performance close to the 1500 R5?

2nd gen means what exactly? In terms of availability? 2018? or late 2017?
not linked in term of aviability... just 2nd generation 🙂 If Ryzen is 1st gen then it might be an evolution as the "blah blah blah -E" for Intel. Most strange thing is the socket... maybe AM44 for high end if AMD copy Intel even there, in the name sheme 🙂

Looks like Napels to me in a single socket form much like SBE.

Sniff sniff, I feel workstation scent.

I'm with the teacher here. Guru3d is a great site but a lack of oversight and proof-reading makes it appear like a 2nd-rate one. Someone should definitely double-check the spelling.
Hilbert Hagedoorn mother language is not English. On the rush to get an article out or in many cases short time to do so, mistakes happen. Show me your tech news site doing better please? Oh right, you don't have one.

Well, this is not FB, so maybe having someone that speaks english natively proof reading wouldn't be bad..

Oh I was in a bit of a rush yesterday, you know .. free Saturday and an appointment an all. But next time I could just skip writing the news item if you all are so bothered by few grammar issues every now and then. Anyway fixed.

Grammatical errors are something that us older folk usually complain about. It is much more prevalent today than it was 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Hilbert does a better job than most but no one is perfect. My old school of thought and teaching was that accuracy showed professionalism, not to mention getting my ass chewed for making grammatical errors many times. I do still value accuracy but making minor mistakes in grammar doesn't affect professionalism IMO anymore. I laugh to myself everyday when I read or see grammatical errors. But I laugh not only at the error/author, but also at myself for being an old fart and saying, "the good ole days"! LOL So for a couple laughs now ; ) "There's not a day that goes by with something Ryzen." LOL @ Hilbert There's not a day that goes by without something Ryzen. LOL @ Lex Keep up the timely news Hilbert and keep the feedback flowing Guru's. P.S. I swear Superman mispelled that...

I'm more than happy to read some news at weekends because everywhere is dead. Don't listen to some knucklehead and keep doing your thing. You're not using "your" instead of "you're" like 90% of Americans

The more meat the better, finally some activity on the CPU market.

Man, ppl complaining about grammar... go read some Trump Tweets instead 🙂 At least HH is perfectly readable and gets the point across 😉 Rather have the news fast, keep it up man...

Grammar doesnt need to be perfect. If errors are spotted its nice to point them out so they can be corrected, but does not make or breake a news post. Its more important that the news are correct and relevant 🙂 Guru3D is my nr1 goto site for tech news. Not because they have the least spelling errors, but because they have good and up-to date news presented in a nice way. Keep up the good work 🙂

Not wanting to jump on any bandwagon, but Spellcheckers have been around for quite some time now, and are pretty easy to use. For frontpage news, i'd take an extra minute or two to check it, personally. In the forums, or comments, well, its not so much of a problem.

Just a suggestion to the newbies, if u want to correct grammar and spelling , do it in depth, in whole and to the point, with a bit of humility, as u would when correcting someone older/respectable than you. Keep that in mind, everybody wins. Also, for obvious reasons, that post of yours can get *snipped* after the correction.

Can we please stop with the grammar trolling. English isn't Hilbert's first language (despite Dutch education being amongst the best in the world and him being fluent), but the content on this site is amongst the best on the web so it's why I keep coming here. People make mistakes when they're in a hurry, so lay off. In other news, 12 and 16 core Ryzen is very tempting...

Jesus AMD! They're making it rain core count!

Side note to the write - pours and safe - Sorry it's the Teacher in me 🙂 Write a thousand tech articles in Dutch and see how well your grammar and spelling stands up to nit picking. In my book pointing out the obvious for no other reason but to be righteous is a vainglory move. On topic.. I am glad to see AMD finally spreading their wings. All this new technology is a win win for us the consumer.

Spellcheckers do not work with valid words like "save" or "pour". I studied English language and literature and I'm not bothered by an occasional typo or wrong word. It's a tech news site, and Hilbert is not a native speaker. On topic: AMD seems intent on taking the game to Intel in the workstation arena. Exciting times ahead.

I agree, its nit picking, but literally EVERY site has people in the comments suggesting corrections. It shouldn't be taken as a slight against the author, it will ALWAYS happen. yes, spellcheckers don't do correctly spelled words, i get you there. I'm an Englishman living in France, and I am probably the only person who uses spellcheck in this company before sending out emails. 🙂 This is an English site iirc, if it was Dutch, and then had a translated version of the site, that would be different. Hilbert should just take it in his stride. People will correct, and they are only trying to be helpful. On-Topic : Glad I didn't jump the gun and go for an AM4 CPU. This is going to be an exciting year for AMD CPU's and GPU's 🙂
