They of course want to do that but I'm not sure CPU demand will be high enough for them to pull it off. Consumer CPU and GPU sales have tanked. I suspect so many upgraded/bought new PC's over the last two years due to being in the pandemic lock downs and this high inflation people either don't need a PC or can't afford one. If you think that might be the case don't buy anything of this new stuff the first month its out because it will get discounted if it doesn't sell well enough.
Exactly. And we can add energy prices. The PC market is set for a serious contraction.

It looks like their pricing people out of the PC gaming market. Never thought I'd see the day that PC gaming would become a luxury rather than available to most everyone. What are the rumors on motherboard pricing?

They're not pricing people out of gaming. They are pricing their better CPUs out of gamers' hands, though.

Someone here has posted slides with the real prices and it seems the 7700x is going to cost 399€. Better than 450€, of course, but still more expensive than i hoped for. If we factor the high prices of motherboards and of DDR5, then this is not going to be a cheap upgrade...

If they follow the costs of the Z690 boards, they are going to be really expensive. I'm dreading this as I'm quite keen to upgrade my aging X99 platform.

Decrease your outgoings, increase your income, or borrow. Basics of economics. Hence why not all high earners have spare money and not all low earners are skint.

Buy used cpu and motherboard = MANY fps for the money 🙂 It isn't a human right to buy the newest pc gear, but it's fun to do it 😀
