Another round of 450$ 8core cpu. I knew that first rumor of lower prices was to good to be true.

Post-launch price reductions did happen many times. A smart buyer would wait until Intel launches their own stuff...

Considering today is the official presentation, this leak is probably real. But those prices seem a bit high compared to Intel´s 12 Gen. I hope that Zen4 performance can justify it's price.

it's not quite unchanged though. The 7700 is 449 where the 7800 should have been so if they do end up releasing a 7800 they will either make it more expensive or possible reduce the 7700 price.

The one big difference with this generation will be increase in motherboard prices. @Kool64 7800x could be reserved for v-cache model.

There's a quite big price gap between 7600x and 7700x. 7700, maybe?

Ooh 7700 or 7900, that is the question.

In Europe those prices will translate into a disaster for low-mid budget. Intel 13600k is going to be $349, tough one for 7700x
Yeah, I have a feeling the 7700X won't be worth the money compared to Intel offerings. If we go up from there, a buyer is looking for a certain kind of perfomance for their own purposes, so it's kind of meaningless for outsiders to comment on it, but neverheless, Intel will offer very tough competition over there as well. On the other hand, like Undying said, the mobo offerings will also play a role, so the price of the CPU alone won't decide everything. The 3D cache models later will make Intel grind their teeth, though, no doubt about it.

If these prices hold up then AMD expects to smoke the 12th gen otherwise, they would price them lower. We shall see soon but if this is real then I expect that whole 15%+ thing from AMD to be a worst-case scenario sandbag type of statement.

My fear is that AMD is matching Zen4 price and performance with Alder lake. But they know that Raptor lake will be faster, but also with higher prices.

Waiting on the X3DVC version!

I hope AL prices will be slashed after rpl-s. but that is a really high price to get people onto am5, and it's hard to imagine zen5/6 will be better in terms of price. why is tdp going up to 105w on 7600x ?

now they're starting with 450 on 7700x,last time it was 5800x and 5700x eventually came at 300-something.

but why align your price/performance with a product that will be a year old by the time they launch. this brings very little change.

I doubt Alder Lake will get a price cut. Intel already confirmed in their latest earnings call that they are going to increase prices. Probably RL will get a price hike, and AL stays the same.

They're all at least 50 USD higher than they should. Well, at least they're not more expensive, right? PS: Those TDP are absolutely nuts. Common AMD, I thought you liked to brag about efficiency! No f*cking way I'm going over 65W TDP ever.

well, 12700f is 330eur at least there's an option to get a 8+4/20t 120eur cheaper (with ddr4)

I want that 7700x with ddr5 6000 cl32 and x670 board but oh boy that combo gonna be costly. Will probably wait little while tho and intel raptor lake to drive that prices down maybe.

The $450 8-core is the 3d V-cache CPU. Good bit of difference between that and a standard 8 core, imo, in performance and price.

They're both at the $449 US price, so something's not right there.

They of course want to do that but I'm not sure CPU demand will be high enough for them to pull it off. Consumer CPU and GPU sales have tanked. I suspect so many upgraded/bought new PC's over the last two years due to being in the pandemic lock downs and this high inflation people either don't need a PC or can't afford one. If you think that might be the case don't buy anything of this new stuff the first month its out because it will get discounted if it doesn't sell well enough.
