INF comparison. 17.11.1 AMD Driver version 17.40.1031 Windows driver version 23.20.788.0 17.11.2 Driver version 17.40.2511 Windows driver version 23.20.793.0 Notable changes? [ATI.Mfg.NTamd64.10.0] "%AMD6863.1%" = ati2mtag_R7500, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6863&REV_00 [Strings] AMD6863.1 = "Radeon Vega Frontier Edition" So these look like they support the Vega Frontier directly now without needing the separate Frontier driver. EDIT: And as usual the atiapfxx.blb file comparison. (Which is converted to readable xml via command-line and running atiapfxx.exe -r -sys -s test.xml which is then compared against the dump of the previous driver.) Well the version number is already listed above, 17.11.1 is dated November 2nd and 17.11.2 is dated November 15th. Crossfire profiles: Star-Wars Battlefront 2 Call of Duty World War 2 These were updated. DXX profiles: DOTA2 Destiny 2 These were updated. "PXDynamic">HighPerfGPUAffinity This particular flag was applied to the following games: Battalion 1944 (Battalion.exe) From Other Suns (FoS-Win64-Shipping.exe) LA Noire (L.A. Noire_Release.exe and L.A. Noire_Release-dev.exe and yes it already had a profile, HD version on PC too then?) Shard (Shard_Release_Vive_Vulkan_x64.exe) Sparc (VRArena.exe) EDIT: Previous exe names for LA Noire was "LANoire_Release.exe" and "LANoire.exe" (So now there's four of them, guessing that means the new edition might possibly hit PC but we'll see.)

@JonasBeckman L.A. Noire_Release.exe may be the VR game but who knows, if Rock Star Games did the remaster on console it well coming to pc later on.

Just installed it. Nothing special about these drivers, no difference between 17.11.1 imo.

I'm sorry for being so blunt, but would you care to elaborate? Is it supposed to be a big driver update or were you being sarcastic?
Im not being Sarcastic...yes next month is the big driver.

Does anybody have an error in atidxx64.dll module in CoD Ghost? Just get random freeze in game with "application stops***** ". Don't know who's guilt - new driver or mystery kb4049011 from MS.

Ok, now my interest is piqued as opposed to purposely remaining clueless. (I was fighting my inner geek hardcore, guys.) Y u no put Mantle in Grey Shiny RadeonSettings box, AMD? (I read long ago that it is active on my 7790. I can admit this. Besides, I see the files for it in system32.) To all others that don't do that sort of thing (lol) - same on yours? Just installed, nothing tested, but desktop is cool so far without memory leak.
As with previous drivers, both the AMD Mantle Version and AMD API Version show on a RX480. You might send a report or post in the official forum, so the driver team could take a look a it, even if it's cosmetical. @d0X Radeon WattMan may not apply correct reduced voltage values for some Radeon RX 400 and Radeon RX 500 series graphics products. This fix could have been some tweak on wattman for higher asic cards as ours, when using it to apply voltage changes. (I only use AB) The occasional ~1.15V spikes while playing video still happen with a stock card, though.

they fixed the GPU/Compute switch. 🙂
Oh, the one I never had in the first place?

They removed it for some cards.

Hi. What GPU Workload i should choose for gaming for better fps, Graphics or Compute?
Compute is for stuff like gpu mining. Just leave it at Graphics.

I'm not sure this is real.

CODWW2 is running in single GPU on Vega here...Maybe its that kind of profile that switch it to stricktly single GPU??
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/209/209146.jpg
Could be, but a single-GPU profile to me would be a very short string and probably involving a lot of 0x0 flags. HighPerfGPUAffinity HighPerfGPUAffinity HighPerfGPUAffinity HighPerfGPUAffinity HighPerfGPUAffinity And these which appear to tie into Crossfire. Star Wars Battlefront 2Profile Call Of Duty World War IIProfile Call Of Duty World War IIProfile Call Of Duty World War IIProfile Call Of Duty World War IIProfile Call Of Duty World War IIProfile And then these but these appear to connect to the above DXX profile. CoDWW2_SPProfile CoDWW2_SPProfile Those hex flags can mean a lot of different things though, for Linux it seems some of this was recently found commented in the source code for the drivers there but that doesn't help with DirectX games though it can give some info on how this is all set up. Undoubtedly some of these are compatibility flags or workarounds or other "hacks" for how the game should work with multiple GPU's and to try and maximize scaling but there could be flags for different GPU models and Vega in particular was only recently made Crossfire compatible I believe. (Another flaw with the original release of that GPU, well for those who've managed to snag 2x of them at least what with poor availability and all that.) Could be that there's still work to be done before multi-GPU works perfectly for Vega, though GPU model aside both SLI and Crossfire support seems to have been problematic as of late. It's a high profile title though, there is obviously a profile too so hopefully AMD will have it resolved sooner rather than later, 17.12.1 looks to be focusing on including a OSD but hopefully there's more to it than expanding on ReLive. 🙂 EDIT: Comparing with a profile that should be single-GPU could perhaps help but even the Win10 UWP apps have a few bits to their profiles. 0x22,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x18,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x17,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x20,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x1F,0x00,0x20,0x00,0x01,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x04,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x22,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x02,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x18,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x17,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x20,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x1F,0x00,0x20,0x00,0x03,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x04,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00, Though yeah a lot of 0x00 in there. That first flag is probably of some importance too, tends to be the first noticeable difference when a Crossfire profile has been updated but it could just function as a sort of incremental version string or well it's probably some other bit or flag but usually it's increased when a profile is updated. 🙂 EDIT: Or I could look at the top of the CFX list and see they actually have compatibility profiles specifically for these modes. 0x24,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x20,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x17,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x03,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x02,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x06,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x13,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x04,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x38,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0x08,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x64,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x02,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x22,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x02,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x20,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x17,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x28,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x02,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x26,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x03,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x38,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0x08,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xD0,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x02,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00, 0x22,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x10,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x17,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x04,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x21,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x02,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x03,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x04,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00, 0x23,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x20,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x17,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x02,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x02,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x06,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x13,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x04,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x7C,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x02,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0x18,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x90,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0xFF,0x08,0x00,0x00,0x00,0xA8,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x05,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x0A,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x06,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x21,0x00,0x00,0x01,0x02,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x03,0x00,0xFF,0xFF,0x04,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00,0x00, Not that it says much, at least not without knowing more about these bits at least which I guess there's very limited to no public information about unless some comparison can be made from the open source AMD Linux drivers, mostly just a guess though, OGL differs from D3D after all. (Driver used to have it's own little OpenGL XML file for compatibility for games using that API, disappeared a while back though.)
