ah 420 watts, seems AMD also is taking a page out of Intel and Nvidias books and throwing more power at the situation rather than looking at efficency improvements... Maybe next cards will be less... or maybe more 😀
I think its a good move as it allows the end user to decide exactly how much power they want to use. Its little different to how i run my 6900XT now, i run 2.2ghz for some games and 2.6ghz for others, with matching wattage.

But this is just the opposite of what we used to do, we used to get cards that were clocked at decent rates, 250w, but if you wanted to crank it up you could. Now its the other way round where its already cranked pretty high and users have to now undervolt to get better wattage, I would least prefer it the other way round that way to truely shows the power of the card, not just sell us basically overclocked cards from the get go

AMD is being tight lip on performance with these.

Yes and this could be a bad sign: after Nvidia launched their 4xxx series AMD knows how they stand and they could brag a little (a tweet, a "rumor") about it to stop people from buying nvidia cards but nothing...
Well yeah you would think they would .... On the other hand in the past it really hurt em cause then they had overhype and the cards where disappointing in cparison to what people expected ..... Vega 56 might not beat the pascal counterparts but was an awesome card for the price Polaris was also awesome hell the 150 bucks rx570 on 2018 till 2020 where THE value cards still decent 1080p little cards . So it can be either way ... Crossing my fingers for a good gen!

So the rumored N3X Radeon Pro is likely to be RX 7950/7970 XT 48GB or RX 7950/7970 XTX 48GB. I'm beyond pump for this gen release!

I remember Vega 64, the 'Nvidia Killer', was gona rip the 1080 a new one, but it ended up not even beating the 980, ahh, those were the days 😛

Competition is good. I may have spent £1799.99 on a Zotac 4090 but I want to see people able to pick these up for £999. This requires AMD to be coming in with a faster card at a significantly lower price and I'm all for it. I'm always happy to pay more and test early products. Even had to buy a £35 cable to make the 4090 safer. It's all disposable bonus cash to me and I want others to benefit in the form of cheaper products.
