And then Nvidia release 4090ti, then amd release 7950xt, then nvidia release 4090ti super, then amd release 7950xtx. Please be reasonably priced.
They will be priced reasonably the same as Nvidia.

The question will be, real 24GB of VRAM or will be split like in the old dual GPU cards

AuerX:

Anyone know what type of power connectors these will have?
According to JayZ also the new 12VHPWR.

Crazy Joe:

Are we starting with the AMD rumors now? A lot of the RTX4090 rumors turned out to be nonsense, I assume the same will hold for the RX 7900XT rumors. Let's just wait until these things are introduced and benchmarked by independent reviewers and then draw any conclusions based on real data i.s.o the "suspect" data coming from rumor mongers..
Of course, we love silly rumours originating from the most obscure corners of the web... But for me, more important than pure performance, is decent pricing because not everyone wants or can spend lots of money on a GPU.

I may be wrong, but if it turns out true that AMD will not use the new power connector, it won't be because of this. The board design and power considerations must have been finalised some time ago and probably (and hopefully) they have already started manufacturing cards.
started manufacturing cards? no, they've already manufactured those cards and they're sailing across the pacific as we speak, at least the first tranche is

Well the 4090 pulls "only" 325 watts during gaming.
I look at my RTX 4090 and scream shame, shame, shame, shame why are you not like other 4090's shame 😀

1) i wouldn't be surprised that AMD "beat" the 4090 and neither should you if you've been paying attention. whether they do or don't is another question and i suspect that the first (AMD) numbers are finessed. 2) AMD is ready for Prime Time. RDNA 3 is the largest wafer allocation for a gpu in their history. i do expect some wafers have been pushed into the queue for Navi 33 (lower priced series) just like Nvidia pushing some back for the lower Lovelace series. pricing is always an issue, but i expect the Navi 31 and 32 to cost less than the RDNA 2 equivalent models adjusted for inflation. will Europe get screwed? probably as that's par for the course it seems and the exchange rates aren't great for a U.S. product. 3) real world price wars - because of the large numbers of gpus fabbed - both last and next gen - there is a guarantied price war brewing and AMD is better set to weather it. not saying they'll end up on top as the marketshare is ridiculous for Nvidia - but they'll do a lot of damage to Nvidia's bottom line as AMD's high end costs roughly 20-30% less to manufacture than Nvidia's. the only place they go toe to toe on an even cost of manufacture is the "4070" and below as at that point both are using the same node on a monolithic chip with the same yields.

Seems there's more to it these days. What's their dlss alternative? Does it boost performance as much and how is the IQ? Will they catch up in ray tracing? AMD, even the current cards don't struggle against Nvidia when it's a game without the baloney gimmicks. But having been fed and consumed baloney sandwiches for about a decade now....I need to know these things. I was on Newegg launch day for 4090 and just couldn't do it. I had one in the cart but the price, the unknown of amd and the fact I don't have a game I play that struggles with my 3080 ti made me empty the cart and forget about it. I'm more interested in the 4080 personally. But I'm not against AMD. I haven't owned an AMD card since the x1800xt. That was a great card. Had the 9700 pro and 9800 pro before that, in the good ol ati days. If they made something solid I'd buy it.

It's not a dual GPU card. It's an MCM GPU card. It's not like Ryzen CPUs would behave like having two separate CPUs in two separate sockets on your mobo. It's not like an MCM GPU would behave like two separate GPUs. Stream processors have been split between chiplets, as well as all the IO stuff, just like in CPUs. I'm sure AMD faced big challenges in making it all work, but let's hope they conquered all of the challenges without losing performances in the process. Nevertheless, because it was done like this, it's even harder to predict the performance.

AMD is being tight lip on performance with these.

Yes and this could be a bad sign: after Nvidia launched their 4xxx series AMD knows how they stand and they could brag a little (a tweet, a "rumor") about it to stop people from buying nvidia cards but nothing...

Or blow our socks off! I think the will be slightly below the 4090 though, be a lower price and lower power usage.

i'm slightly more optimistic. the 7900xtx will be the one more juiced as it's a binned performance chip. i think it actually may outperform the 4090 but at the cost of being a power pig. i see the 7900xt just at or slightly below the 4090, which will be a great place to be pricewise as well as many people imply, AMD doesn't need to hit 4090 specs if close as all of their cards (except xtx) are less expensive to produce so can easily make a good margin at a significantly lower price. i think the real rock n' roller here is the 7800xt because Nvidia's pulling/rebranding that 4080 lite (4070) and is leaving this price point empty for AMD for a few months.

I love they bringing back the XTX branding. I know its still part of the chip itself but its nice to see it in gpu naming again. I remember the 1900XTX vs 7900GTX. Great times.

Alessio1989:

they should add the dimension of the graphics card in reviews too. Having a gpu that cannot fit in most tower cases and that has issues for the power connectors distance is a thing that should be evaluated.
JTC actually did include that in one of his videos. Not sure if it was an unboxing video or his review video...but he made it a point to inform viewers of such issues as card length and card width.

ah 420 watts, seems AMD also is taking a page out of Intel and Nvidias books and throwing more power at the situation rather than looking at efficency improvements... Maybe next cards will be less... or maybe more 😀
