hasnt fixed my issiue with rx 5600 XT Sapphire which is micro stuttering in game.. the game i play most is Heroes of the storm, since i parachused this card i have not been able to play it because of all the stuttering.. the only thing that helps is switching from full screen to window mode.. never had this issiue with my old rx 480 , was running smooth all the time at max setting, with the new card its micro stuttering every time even at lowest settings
If you have not, try setting Chill to same FPS for Min and Max. Make it from 2 to even 10 FPS lower than your monitor is set to(don't really hurt if it is a 120Hz+). For me, CS:GO needed something like 10 for some reason... V-Sync and Enhanced Sync off. Works well with my Freesync monitor @ Full Screen. Also, just in case - DDU in safe mode and install driver with a Factory Reset.

Because you aren't the only person in the world? Or are you implying that everyone complaining is lying?
Welcome to Guru3d forums/AMD section. It is a well known forum for flaming. It isn't wonder that Nvidia section is more active and with more users.

RX 5000 is even more beta than Vega. Polaris and GCN were the last mature products. Everyone knows that, fanboys, never accepted this though.

it's a delicate debate. Everyone has its own custom settings (or simply just use default ones) with a tons of possible hardware combinations. Speaking for myself, I've never had any problems using 280x, 390, 580x and now Vega64 and I have friends with RX 5700 without any problems either. I think its all depends on game engine, monitor, cable (HDMI or DP), custom settings/OC/UV, features used.. I'm always using latest drivers, beta or whql. Install the driver, make sure Freesync is enable, apply my custom settings from OverdriveNTool and thats it. Its been a while since last time I had to use DDU, Factory Reset always get the job done for me. But I'm a casual player, mostly R6Siege, I don't use any recorder feature, streaming, and all this kind of stuff. To be honest, I had one problem a couple of days ago. I tried to use Game Profile to increase Saturation In-Game, but it doesn't work, saturation is applyied system-wide, dispite of having a Global Option and a Game Profile Option. So I found a program (VibranceGUI) thats does the job. I not fully happy to use a third-party program since it seens that the driver should do it, but its not a big problem for me. I don't know how nvidia handle this nowadays.

"Fixed Issues Some games may exhibit stutter intermittently during gameplay on Radeon RX 5000 series graphics products." Still no fix for Warzone. If I don't edit "adv_options.ini" and thange VideoMemoryScale = 0.85 to 0.55, I get horrible 300~500ms stutters every 10 seconds. And old issue not yet fixed for the most played game of the moment.
Come on dude, it's an obvious issue with the game. Beenox (the company that ported the game to PC) is notorious for bad ports!!! Possible memory leak that's overted by doing that. Can you lock FPS in game to 60 and actually see 60FPS locked yet? No, because they won't fix that either. Sloppy work from that lot. Furthermore, I found this information out as well. More then likely the game engine isn't using vram the way AMD would like it to.
Use QueryVideoMemoryInfo and VK_EXT_memory_budget to query for the current memory budget. It is recommended to only use 80% of the total VRAM to reduce the probability of eviction. Don’t call memory query functions per frame. Instead use the RegisterVideoMemoryBudgetChangeNotificationEvent function to have the OS signal the app when the budget changes.

I had this same issue , just a suggestion I went into services (windows 10) and I found 2 things running: AMD Crash Defender Service : first I (right click) stop it from running and then (right click) properties (startup type) and disabled it AMD External Events Utility: first I (right click) stop it from running and then (right click) properties (startup type) and disabled it Restarted the computer and i have not had an issue since on any games, very happy how things have been running with my 5700XT
Sounds great, will try it out! @Eastcoasthandle sorry but I dont agree. If the game runs fine on nvidia cards (and it does, at least in regards to this kind of stuttering - had a 1070 before and everything was fine) and not on the specific RX5000 cards, it's a problem with the card and the way it's VRAM works. Stable cards should be prepared for memory leaks. AMD recommending us to keep under 80% of VRAM to prevent a problem from manifesting itself doesn't make it less of a problem. It IS a problem simply because it only happens with this product (RX5000). I hate car analogies, but I can't help myself: if Ford designed a Mustang model which loses handling after 90mph, its a problem. If Ford recommends this models' owners not to exceed 90mph, it doesn't make it less of a problem.

I don't have that problem and I own a 5700xt. So if it was a driver problem I would be complaining of that issue as well. One of the major causes of stuttering is the cache file found in X:\call of duty modern warfare\main. Have a look for yourself. How large is that folder? It's a cache folder that gets re-written with added files all the time. I always periodically delete everything in that folder except fileSys.check.cfg. As it can grow to well over 5 gigs. For whatever reason when it gets large like that the game stutters.

Thanks, i'll check it out', but I doubt it would solve my problem, since I formatted the system and redownloaded the game less than a week ago. I may be facing a problem specific to my card (and also dozens of peoples around the net), but surely its not something wrong with my rig, as my 1070 works just fine with the same rig. edit:

Here's another thing MW isn't on AMD's Recommend list when the profile is added. Look for yourself. Go into Adrenaline, Gaming > Games and the profile has no recommendation markings on it. Sure, AMD should communicate why that is!!! However, I have heard that Beenox are a bit bias towards Nvidia: https://twitter.com/NVIDIAGeForce/status/1309603343845568513 So I wouldn't expect them to fix any "AMD" issues. Which can explain why Nvidia "works" for them. Although the FPS limiter is borked no matter what GPU you are on as far as I know. And yet another thing. I can play Division 2 using more vram with no problem at all at 1440p.

Can someone test whether Performance Overlay is working under a VSR resolution on Win 10 1809 LTSC? Exclusive Fullscreen. Oddly, it works with Pillars of Eternity and Stardew Valley, but not with The Witcher 3, DOTA2, The Forest or GTA V...

Reverted back to 20.9.1, got my 100 points in time spy back. I will give them a try again with DDU and installer's factory settings reset.
Did you try any games? Why is Time Spy score so important? Is Time Spy score associated to game performance?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/208/208229.jpg
spectatorx:

Actually score itself is not important but may be an indicator of changes in performance in other usages. Anyway, 100 points loss on level of almost 5k points is pretty significant change.
Uhm.... we are talking about 1/50 of a score... or 2%... I thought that everything between 1-2 % could be just considered within a measurement error ? But well... everything what suits your needs is good 🙂 I personally like and prefer the fixes in the new driver over 2% of performance 🙂

updating the drivers with "fresh clean install" does mean to lose the game profiles and the statistics for the games played (hours, fps..)?
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/216/216218.jpg
Yep, it will reset everything - game profiles, settings, statistics, caches etc.

No, but better save Your settings on remote HDD (Fresh install, keep settings). Thing is if You want to revert to 20.5.1 from 20.9.1 the settings can't be loaded. Only forward.

Can someone who has flicker/strobing issues with their VA panel test kb4577063 and let me know if their strobing went away? I just launched SWTOR, and not one flicker during startup. Not one. At all. :gush: I want to know why. (I also just updated Nahimic, but I doubt it was that)

I don't have this update but for me the flickering on VA panel looks better with these 20.9.2 drivers. Also I think that I helped to it with settings more aggressive fan settings on GPU, so the HotSpot temp on my RX5700 doesn't hit the limit and the clock doesn't fluctuate so much. (tested on Mafia Definitive Edition where I was able to see flickering in loading screen) Unfortunately the flickering is more problem of the panels itself...

Had to laugh when realizing that all the VR issues I had in Star Wars Squadrons was because of this new driver with support for the game 😛 Issue is after about 2-5 min playtime in Fleet Battles, the FPS instantly drops to about 20-30... Only in Fleet Battles, not singleplayer or Dogfigth PVP. So I naturally thought there was some issue with the gamemode itself. But since I could not find any posts by other people ( Since majority of VR players seems to have nVidia? Maybe? ) I tried the previous Adrenaline driver. And yes.. The issue is "better". I still get decreasing FPS during the whole match, but not as bad as with the new driver. I would guess this is something AMD may have tried to address in the new driver. But obviously failed hard 😛 Anyone else play SWS in VR here? Any feedback from fellow AMD VR people are always welcome. Cheers!
Latest CU has a bunch of video headset fixes. You should give that a stab.

Cumulatives .541 and .546? https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2020/09/22/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-19042-541-20h2/
We have fixed the issue where WSL fails to start with an “Element not found” error. We added a notification to Internet Explorer 11 that informs users about the end of support for Adobe Flash in December 2020. For more information, see KB4581051. We enhanced the system’s ability to detect when Microsoft Edge IE Mode stops responding. We fixed an issue that, in some instances, prevents the Language Bar from appearing when the user signs in to a new session. This occurs even though the Language Bar is configured properly. We fixed an issue that fails to recognize the first East Asian language character typed into a Microsoft Foundation Class Library (MFC) DataGrid. We fixed an issue the prevents you from reconnecting to a previously closed session because that session is in an unrecoverable state. We fixed an issue that causes games that use spatial audio to stop working. We fixed an issue that prevents the deletion of stale user profiles when you configure a profile cleanup Group Policy object (GPO). We fixed an issue in which selecting I forgot my Pin from Settings>Accounts>Sign-in options fails in a Windows Hello for Business On-Premise deployment. We updated 2021 time zone information for Fiji. We fixed an issue that affects the Microsoft’s System Centre Operations Manager’s (SCOM) ability to monitor a customer’s workload. We fixed an issue that causes random line breaks when you redirect PowerShell console error output. We fixed an issue with creating HTML reports using tracerpt. We allowed the DeviceHealthMonitoring Cloud Service Plan (CSP) to run on Windows 10 Business and Windows 10 Pro editions. We fixed an issue that prevents the content under HKLM\Software\Cryptography from being carried over during Windows feature updates. We fixed an issue that causes an access violation in lsass.exe when a process is started using the runas command in some circumstances. We fixed an issue in which Windows Defender Application Control enforces package family name rules that should be audit only. We fixed an issue that displays an error that states that a smart card PIN change was not successful even though the PIN change was successful. We fixed an issue that might create duplicate Foreign Security Principal objects for Authenticated and Interactive users in the domain partition. As a result, the configuration files (.cnf) for the original objects are damaged. This issue occurs when you promote a new domain controller using the CriticalReplicationOnly flag. We updated the configuration of Windows Hello Face recognition to work well with 940nm wavelength cameras. We reduced distortions and aberrations in Windows Mixed Reality head-mounted displays (HMD). We ensured that new Windows Mixed Reality HMDs meet minimum specification requirements and default to a 90Hz refresh rate. We fixed an issue that causes a stop error on a Hyper-V host when a virtual machine (VM) issues a specific Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) command. We fixed an issue that might cause attempts to bind a socket to a shared socket to fail. We fixed an issue that might prevent applications from opening or cause other errors when applications use Windows APIs to check for internet connectivity and the network icon incorrectly displays “No internet access” in the notification area. This issue occurs if you use a group policy or local network configuration to disable active probing for the Network Connectivity Status Indicator (NCSI). This also occurs if active probing fails to use a proxy and passive probes fail to detect internet connectivity. We fixed an issue that prevents Microsoft Intune from syncing on a device using the virtual private network version 2 (VPNv2) configuration service provider (CSP). We suspended uploads and downloads from peers when a VPN connection is detected. We fixed an issue that prevents Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) management tools, such as IIS Manager, from managing an ASP.NET application that has configured SameSite cookie settings in web.config. We fixed an issue with ntdsutil.exe that prevents you from moving Active Directory database files. The error is, “Move file failed with source and Destination with error 5 (Access is denied.)” We fixed an issue that incorrectly reports that Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) sessions are unsecure in Event ID 2889. This occurs when the LDAP session is authenticated and sealed with a Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) method. We fixed an issue that might cause Windows 10 devices that enable Credential Guard to fail authentication requests when they use the machine certificate. We restored the constructed attribute in Active Directory and Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) for msDS-parentdistname. We fixed an issue that causes queries against large keys on Ntds.dit to fail with the error, “MAPI_E_NOT_ENOUGH_RESOURCES.” This issue might cause users to see limited meeting room availability because the Exchange Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) cannot allocate additional memory for the meeting requests. We fixed an issue that intermittently generates Online Certificate Status Protocol (OSCP) Responder audit events (5125) to indicate that a request was submitted to the OCSP Responder Service. However, there is no reference to the serial number or the domain name (DN) of the issuer of the request. We fixed an issue that displays strange characters before the day, month, and year fields in the output from console commands. We fixed an issue that causes lsass.exe to stop working, which triggers a restart of the system. This issue occurs when invalid restart data is sent with a non-critical paged search control. We fixed an issue that fails to log events 4732 and 4733 for Domain-Local group membership changes in certain scenarios. This occurs when you use the “Permissive Modify” control; for example, the Active Directory (AD) PowerShell modules use this control. We fixed an issue with the Microsoft Cluster Shared Volumes File Systems (CSVFS) driver that prevents Win32 API access to SQL Server Filestream data. This occurs when the data is stored on a Cluster Shared Volume in a SQL Server failover cluster instance, which is on an Azure VM. We fixed an issue that causes a deadlock when Offline Files are enabled. As a result, CscEnpDereferenceEntryInternal holds parent and child locks. We fixed an issue that causes deduplication jobs to fail with stop error 0x50 when you call HsmpRecallFreeCachedExtents(). We fixed an issue that causes applications stop working when they use Microsoft’s Remote Desktop sharing APIs. The breakpoint exception code is 0x80000003. We removed the HTTP call to www.microsoft.com that the Remote Desktop Client (mstsc.exe) makes at sign out when using a Remote Desktop Gateway. We fixed an issue with evaluating the compatibility status of the Windows ecosystem to help ensure application and device compatibility for all updates to Windows. We added support for certain new Windows Mixed Reality motion controllers. We fixed an issue that causes apps that use Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) to stop responding when you attempt to close the app. We added an Azure Active Directory (AAD) Device Token that is sent to Windows Update (WU) as part of each WU scan. WU can use this token to query for membership in groups that have an AAD Device ID. We fixed an issue with setting the “Restrict delegation of credentials to remote servers” Group Policy with the “Restrict Credential Delegation” mode on the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client. As a result, the Terminal Server service tries to use “Require Remote Credential Guard” mode first and will only use “Require Restricted Admin” if the server does not support “Require Remote Credential Guard”.
https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2020/09/30/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-19042-546-20h2/
We fixed an issue that prevents a device from entering Modern Standby. We fixed a reliability issue in Microsoft Edge that occurs when you open multiple windows or tabs.
EDIT: Yeah Mixed Reality after reading it through. (Seems I should have used the fancy term HMD over VR and I would have found it easier. 😛 ) EDIT: October cumulative update shouldn't be more than two weeks out so the next update and the full launch of 20H2 too can't be too far off now. All the fun stuff seem to be in 21H1 though so aside from the current 19041/19042 updates and some good quality fixes it's basically a few things being enabled, Chromium Edge getting a install and Adobe Flash going EOL around the same time. Anyways 20.10.1 next up I guess is what it has to be driver wise, let's see if AMD can undo the remaining known issues just before RDNA2 and then it's hopefully not time to do all this once more all over.
