the NIS came out to be a response to the FSR.

sometimes yes, but can force for exclusive full-screen use (if my memory serves me correctly) (sorry for my bad english)

KonoSuba:

(the difference from RSR to NIS is that it doesn't need to be implemented in the game code by the developer of game)
NIS only requires dev support to work on AMD/Intel. It works on every game for Nvidia regardless of dev support or not.

No, exclusive fullscreen is going away. The only way you can get it is disabling FSO. Two reasons this doesn't make sense.

NVidia's NIS works fine with FSO. It still counts as "true fullscreen". I would be very surprised if AMD's option wouldn't work with FSO.

and I think it works as far back as maxwell.what is the point of a spatial upscaler if you're not gonna enable it for the old cards. on the other hand though, most of gcn is legacy.they could enable it for polaris and vega imo,and maybe they'll change their minds eventually.those gpus are still fine for 1080p/1440p respectively, and might be really useful for those who want to run newest games, regardless of settings.

You can still use windowed mode, it depend on how much power you have... My pref goes to windowed to do other things not relative to game at the same time.

One advantage this has is it separates the game environment from the user interface so no loss in quality on health bars mini maps ect. where NIS does the hole screen regardless hitting image quality on user interface that stands out because its static. Not as good as dlss but miles better than NIS

No global driver controlled tech like this can render UI at full res and only upscale the game world. Even if they tried, it would only work for some games and not others, as the ways of rendering UI elements are extremely varied, and the only way to avoid that is by having in-engine support.

How come? NIS does scale the desktop and game UI meaning he is right.
