Undying:

I dont understand how Intel CPUs should be benchmarked? Suicide mode for testing then baseline for gaming? I mean they are also missleading with their performance.
They should be tested according to intel recommendations - you are confusing intel recommendation for performance profiles with motherboard manufacturers performance profiles which were out of Intel specs - this was talked over and over here. AMD basically admitted in their blog post that they "castrated" Intel CPU's in their marketing slides results (by using in those tests baseline power delivery) in order make ZEN 5 look better. https://i.imgur.com/SBlEhGc.png

There are some really nice improvements with the fix in Windows 11 24H2, over 23H2 Both for Zen4 and Zen5. Too bad he didn't test Zen3 as well. [youtube=yDzVWqncMFA]

I've only tested a handful of games, but the uplift seems to apply to Zen 3 as well, at least the 5800X3D.

I considered installing it, but I think I rather wait for the patch to arrive for 23H2. Still, it's good to know that the 5800X3d also benefits from it.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System]
"EnableLUA"=dword:00000000
"ConsentPromptBehaviorAdmin"=dword:00000002
"ConsentPromptBehaviorUser"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\luafv]
 "Start"=dword:00000004
This disbales UAC/LUA

So if it Chipset driver issue and OS issue, what about win10 people using the chip? I mean not that they should seeing it less 12 months from being EOL and no mure updates but I guarentee there people that will stay on win 10 as long as they can

Well if your using w10 and have a Ryzen chip now there is a reason to update to w11.

I always rolled my eyes at people calling it a Wintel conspiracy yet here we are. Wow.

I hope update gets released to retail version of w11 asap.

The funny part is that Zen4 got very similar boost. Zen5% is barely 2% if adding more games... No wonder they "fly off the shelves" 🙄 Now I'm really curious of two more tests - Zen 3 difference before-after - Windows 10 (22H2) vs Windows 11 (24H2), both ran on Administrator account If there's clear benefit of 11-24H2 over W10, and it affects Zen 3 too, I might be persuaded to upgrade my W10. Because, so far, I saw no reason to do so.

I'm guessing Zen3 will see a similar uplift. This looks like a "bug" affecting all Ryzens. I'm calling it a "bug" because I have not read anything about the cause.

This is literally amazing. Whilst I didn't have any solid numbers I know I can now easier run 5 vscode IDEs, 3 angular frontends and two docker containers and having edge open multiple tabs without hiccups but before my machine would have chocked. Most likely games would work way better also

We will need the whole Ryzen lineup re-tested after this update. Interestingly enough Intel CPU's didnt get any boost in performance.

I was surprised HUB didn't retest both the Zen 3 and 4 X3Ds. I assume it was due to time constraints. Hopefully they will do them next, now that they pushed this out.

7800x3d will only extend the lead over any other cpu. It seems v-cache will benefit the most, 12% increase in Cyberpunk 😱 5800x3d also needs to be tested.

CONFIRMED MY SELF!!! 7800X3D CO -30 RTX4090 OC 32GB 6000MHz CL30 RAM I just reinstalled Win 11 with my ventoy usb. Entered Dev channel of the insider build and updated to 24H2. I ran Cyberpunk 2077 at the same settings I have ran the game at on 23H2 (latest official stable release). 23H2 was AVG FPS 185FPS MIN FPS 98FPS MAX FPS 201FPS 24H2 is....

AVG FPS 199FPS MIN FPS 107FPS MAX FPS 226FPS This is an insane jump for just a windows update. What the hell was Microsoft doing for all other versions of Windows 11? Everything needs retesting now because you can throw out all previous data for Zen4 & 5 and probably Zen 3 as well out the window.

That leap in min frames alone’s impressive enough. I’m actually keen to see if there’ll be noticeable improvements in programs like Lightroom and Photoshop or is it just games.

No to little improvement in CB_R23 so I am not sure.
