Yesterday I almost had a panic attack here... After about two hours of uninterrupted Crysis 3 playing, when I got back to the desktop, my windows was all garbled, with colored lines all over it, and suddenly, my PC started hanging every boot. I thought the card had died. But, oddly when on DOS or the BIOS screen, all went fine. So I started suspecting it was the BIOS update I did last week. Thankfully, I had the previous VGA bios saved and flashed it back, reinstalled the drivers, and the problem is GONE.... PHEW... Strangely, the other BIOS had the same clocks the default from MSi has. It was a reference AMD BIOS.... Strangely, now, even though the system is stable, with the 14.9 drivers the memory clocks stay @ 1250MHz all the time... Maybe that is what did the trick to make the system stable... Card is running a little hotter, though... Any thoughts on this ppl?

I always had weird issues like that while overclocking the VRAM. Not sure why you would be getting it at 1250 unless undervolted.

Anybody else getting audio corruption over HDMI with these drivers? I've never had a problem like this before and it's driving me up a wall. For example, when I play any music file (mp3, flac, m4a) as long as I'm doing NOTHING else it will play mostly fine. If I dare to open a single program, like CCleaner or paint.NET I get 10-20 seconds of horrible fuzz and white noise before the music resumes. It is at its worst when I open a new tab in Firefox or Chrome. I've tried playing different file types through different players (foobar, vlc, mpc, itunes) and the same thing happens. When I switch my audio output to the onboard sound and hook up my headphones I can do anything while listening to music and it is all fine. My only solution for now is going through the AMD Catalyst Install Manager and uninstalling just the HDMI audio driver. That leaves me with the basic Win 7 driver which works, but I have noticed FPS hits in a few games. If anybody has anything like this maybe we could figure it out. I'm going to try installing just the HDMI audio driver from some older Catalyst versions tomorrow to see if that fixes it. Other than this glaring issue, these drivers seem to be good.

Well, I went back to the latest bios from MSi, and the problem went away... Thankfully, I thought I'd have to RMA this card... I was using a newer reference bios, supposedly from AMD, but from Gigabyte website... Well, living and learning... BTW, 14.9's are rocking here! 😀

I do know my MSI cards run 1550mv stock, maybe the ones you flashed run at 1500. Me too. Pretty good so far.

Have these added CrossFireX support for The Vanishing of Ethan Carter?
Xfire works for me. I had to close msi afterburner to even get the game to start though. I could tell xfire was working though through opening 2 instances of GPU-Z, plus HWiNFO64.

I have exactly the same problem here with my 7790. Have this bug since the 14.4 (the 14.6 beta 1 / 14.6 beta 2 / 14.7 RC3 have the same bug too) and have reported it in the AMD report form each time, but it is still here in the 14.9 🙁
thanx for reply. reported it, too. I did use 14.3 before I installed the 14.9. Was the most stable. Have now BC 141 crashes every second day:bang:

Installed on windows 10, 0.0% change in Heaven and Firestrike Extreme ( a good thing). However, I get browser corruption with these like seen in past releases. I also have a stuck clocks bug. The card will get stuck at 501MHz idle and will not exceed it's low power 3d clocks of 880MHz. Only a reboot solves this - until you run a 3d application again. Still testing.

Installed the 14.9 whql friday finally. Disabled all overclocks this time, ddu, and all's fine. Clocks popped right back up afterwards. Still getting a sudden slump in clocks after a while in Stalker : Lost Alpha, but that could be due to the game. Have noticed it happenning between level loads, rather than, in-game. Not played any other games yet 🙂 Edit : I'm also running Flash HW acceleration in Firefox, and have no probs. Youtube at least.

It's not the game. I've been playing Planetside 2 and clocks ware jumping all over the place. Rolling back to 14.7 fixed it.

CINEBENCH R15 OpenGL 14.3: 115 fps 14.9: 121 fps (best ever!)

I was getting it in 13.12 as well. Does 14.7 have a special fix for it ?

The new BIOS didn't solve it, I guess it really is a driver issue as they say.
I'm having those black screens as well (with the driver not responding message on the system tray). I turned HW acceleration off on Firefox and the problem is almost gone, so I believe it's a Firefox/Flash problem.

Or you have a black screen problem or you don't wake up from sleep the last one is a known bug. You can get your monitor back by replugging your monitor cable in you graphics card.

My computer is not set to sleep, it only turns off display after 15 minutes of being idle.
Sorry but that's what i meant i sometimes have the same problem and solve it by replugging the display cable.

Driver issue i think i've seen other cards do it to

Replugging the display cable completely resizes all opened windows though, which is very unwanted.

Strange because i do not have that when i replug the cable.

@ cystacae - ..and do it all in Safe Mode, with no internet connection.. (??)
Hmm, I did this with win8.1, or else it would install some previous catalyst driver from the net. In windows 7 it doesn't really make a difference whether I boot into safe mode or not. However, that's with a tidy system. If one never uninstalled thoroughly, then it would be best to go into safe mode without internet connection at least once. Oh, and with newer drivers it's usually not a biggy either, the newer files will overwrite the older ones. It's when you want to go back to older drivers... These drivers do the same as previous drivers on my windows 8.1, so no fps improvements. On 7 I still prefer 14.3B1.

did you try 14.9.1?
